Hello! I am a Level 3 qualified Childcare Practitioner and I have a First Class Honours degree in Education Studies (specialising in Special & Inclusive Education). I am 26 years old and have been working with children since I was 16.
I have spent the last year and a half working in an outdoor nursery mainly based in the baby or toddler room. I believe that it is important to be outside as much as possible, in all weather, and have seen the many benefits this has for children of all ages.
I am passionate about outdoor education, messy play, and providing children with new and exciting opportunities. Although I am a quiet person, this has always worked to my benefit, as I have been praised on my ability to build good relationships with children and to help them to come out of their shell. I have found that children warm to me quickly, feeling safe and listened to.
My Experience
I have recently left my role as an Early Years Practitioner in an ‘Outdoor Nursery’ where we aim to be outside with the children as much as possible every single day.
After finishing school at 16, I went to college to study 'Childcare and Education'. As part of this qualification I worked with children from 6 months to 5 years in a variety of settings. Whilst studying at college, I was babysitting for a few families. I built a close relationship with one family in particular and would pick the children up from school multiple times a week, cook dinner for them, take them to their clubs and spend the afternoon/evening with them. Although I couldn't continue this when I moved away to university, I still kept in contact with them and would visit them every time I was home from university. During my time at university, I started working at a nursery. I worked across all 3 rooms (babies, toddlers and pre-school).
My Qualifications
In 2020 I earnt a First Class Honours degree in 'Education Studies'. I specialised in 'Inclusive Education'.
Before this, in 2017 I gained a 'Level 3 Childcare & Education' qualification. I received a grade 'B' for my knowledge and for my placement experience.
My Availability
I work a part time job, mainly at weekends.
