My Summary
About Me
I am currently on a gap year before going to study law at university. I am a caring, independent, organised and enthusiastic individual who is willing take on a variety of responsibilities to the best of my ability. I have looked up to those who cared for me such as my parents, aunties, uncles, cousins and au pairs. This has made me reflect on how a strong relationship is established and how I can translate this to those who I look after.
My Experience
I have always had a shared responsibility looking after my younger sister (now 8 years old), and at the moment, I take her to school and help keep her occupied during the holidays. I also have experience occasionally babysitting my 1 year old niece - the basics such as playing, reading books, changing nappies and giving baths. I am a competent cook, as I cook dinner for my family everyday. I am comfortable with children from all backgrounds and enjoy building a fun, exciting, supporting and caring relationship with whoever I am with. During sixth form, I also spent three months volunteering with primary school children, helping them read and write in a creative manner. In the past, I have been enthusiastic with spending time with my baby cousin where I have been part of helping her take her first steps, as well as being involved in potty training. While reading her books and acting out different characters in their voices, I make sure to treat every time with the same care and creativity. I enjoy taking my younger sister out for walks in the forest, where we usually play games with rocks and sticks that we find. I love cooking and have a lot of fun experimenting new recipes in the kitchen, getting everyone involved regardless of their age. I am a huge fan of sports and physical activity where I have taught children to play badminton, football and even cartwheels. It is both a rewarding role for children and myself, always having learnt something new at the end of it.
My Qualifications
I have achieved GCSE and A Level qualifications. I do not have any formal qualifications in terms of child care, however, I am experienced in the general aspects of the daily responsibilities of looking after children. I am committed in learning routine.
My Availability
I am flexible most days during the week but not full time.
