Hi ! I’m Alice a student teacher with experience as volunteer teacher and au pair. I am looking to build on my experiences :)
I graduated in June with a degree in translating (French and Spanish) and now I am studying PGDE primary education.
In my free time I enjoy long distance running, hiking, spin and reading.
My Experience
STUDENT TEACHER studying postgraduate diploma in education (primary) over this course I have a total of 18 weeks on placement in local primary schools. ( August 2024-June 2025) Each placement I have a build up of responsibility for the entire class and lessons (Primary 1, 4 and 5) . As well as whole class teaching, I take small support groups and work with ASN children. I’m so excited to have my own class as of August 2025?
Volunteer Teacher in Honduras - I had the sole responsibility of planning and delivering English and PE lessons to classes of up to 25 children aged 4-12. I spent 9 months in Honduras and loved my experience so much I am now studying the postgraduate diploma to be a primary teacher.
Au pair in Spain - In summer 2020 I spent the summer as an Au Pair in Spain for two girls aged 2 & 4. My responsibilities were to care for them from 6am-2.30pm whilst their parents were at work. I planned craft activities and games and prepared breakfast and lunch. In summer of 2021 I went back to the same family and spent 3 months of the summer as their Au Pair again.
Playworker
During my last year of my undergraduate degree I worked at the breakfast and after school care scheme at a local primary school. My responsibilities included serving breakfast and snack, supervising play experiences , organising and leading craft and sport games as well as trips during the school holiday service. I also worked 1-1 with individual children with ASN( Down Syndrome, Global Development delay).

National 5s including Maths and English - AAAAAAB
Highers - AABBC
MA Hons Applied Languages and translating ( French and Spanish) 2:1 - Heriot Watt University.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £20.00 per hour
Rates are based off previous babysitting jobs. A lot of effort outside of paid hours to plan and create individually tailored materials used in tutor sessions hence higher rate per hour.
