About Me
Hello! My name is Anna and I have had child-caring experience in the last 7 years, as I have firstly helped my mother raise my siblings who are now aged 8, 11 and 15, and have had paid experience as a babysitter and personal tutor on ad-hoc and regular basis the last 2 years :)
I have additionally been volunteering with children through teaching them how to enhance their literary skills in a previous programme Tameside Loves Reading during my adolescence! Furthermore, I have been a nanny for 3 months in the summer of 2022, and a babysitter and private Greek tutor for 5 months during the Autumn and Winter of 2023-2024. Following this, I have held a freelance role as a Youth Co-Ordinator for a film club programme with teenagers. Both roles which I wholeheartedly enjoyed.
My mother is a licensed childminder, so I grew up with children playing in our home throughout the last 11 years, making babysitting the ideal profession for me when I am not focusing on my current Masters Degree in Gender, Media and Culture at LSE. Since I moved out of home for university to study my first degree in Sociology at UCL, with a high focus on education and cultural outreach for young people, I have missed being around kids, which is why I love being a baby-sitter! As a plus, I know how to speak fluent Greek and make really tasty snacks, so best of both worlds!
My Experience
I have had experience getting my siblings and the previous children I nannied ready for school, taking them to school, and picking them up from school. I also know how to cater for children, cook for children, perform general household chores and keep the children entertained through art or literary practices and activities! Furthermore, I hold GCE qualifications in English, Sociology and Media, and a BSc degree at UCL in Sociology, therefore I could also tutor kids, as I have volunteering experience in the field of literature tutoring and work experience as a Private Tutor, focusing on English and Greek Language at all levels, English Literature, Sociology, Media Studies and Politics.
My Qualifications
I have a First Aid Certificate, an enhanced DBS check, GCEs at grades: AAA , a BSc Degree in Sociology from UCL with a focus on education and currently undertaking Educate Online training, as well as studying for a Masters Degree in Gender, Media and Culture.
