About Me

Hello! My name is Millie, and I am an independent, hard-working childcare professional with a deep passion for helping children learn and grow at every stage of their development. I am dedicated to providing the best care possible, and I strive to create an environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore the world around them.

With four years of experience working with children in both private nurseries and private homes, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of child development and have developed a range of skills that allow me to effectively support children through all stages of their growth. I am known for being responsible, reliable, and compassionate, and I believe these qualities are essential in providing high-quality care.

As a nanny, my goal is to continue expanding my expertise and making a positive impact in the lives of the families I work with. I am confident in my ability to foster strong relationships with both children and parents, creating a harmonious and supportive environment for all involved.

In addition, I hold a clean driving license with four years of experience and am happy to use my personal vehicle for daily activities with the children, subject to discussion with parents.

I also have glowing references from parents that I’m happy to share with potential families. I look forward to the opportunity to bring my skills, enthusiasm, and dedication to your family.

My Experience

With extensive experience in childcare, I have provided dedicated care to children ranging from newborns to 10 years old, primarily during evenings and weekends, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall happiness in the absence of their parents. I am particularly skilled in managing the unique needs of twins, providing individualized attention while maintaining a balanced and structured environment for both children.

My expertise extends to preparing nutritious meals for children of all ages, always considering dietary requirements and preferences to support their growth and health. Additionally, I am adept at creating and leading stimulating activities that promote both education and entertainment. These activities include games, crafts, and other creative exercises tailored to children’s developmental stages and interests, fostering their cognitive and emotional growth.

I have developed strong routines for bath-time and bedtime, making these daily activities both enjoyable and soothing for children, ensuring they feel secure and calm at the end of the day. Beyond childcare, I assist with light household tasks, such as organizing toys, tidying common spaces, and fulfilling any additional household requests related to the children's needs.

Taking children on outings is another key aspect of my role. I regularly travel with children to parks, playdates, soft play areas, and other suitable locations, encouraging their socialization and providing them with valuable opportunities for physical and mental stimulation. Throughout all activities, I prioritize the safety and well-being of the children, consistently adhering to safeguarding protocols and best practices to ensure a secure environment.

In addition to general childcare, I have considerable experience working with infants, particularly those aged 6 months to 2 years. I am familiar with the demands of newborn care and have a nurturing approach to support developmental milestones in early childhood. I also take an active role in weekly planning, designing age-appropriate activities for children in the 0-5 age group that align with both educational and play objectives.

Collaboration with parents is a cornerstone of my approach. I believe in maintaining open and transparent communication to ensure that care routines are consistent with family expectations, and I always strive to build strong, trusting relationships with parents. Additionally, I manage school pick-ups and drop-offs, ensuring that children are safely transported and prepared for their next activity or transition.

My Qualifications

I have accumulated two years of valuable experience working within a private nursery situated in the heart of St Albans town, where I have had the opportunity to develop my skills in childcare, working with children from various age groups and backgrounds. Additionally, I have several years of experience providing high-quality care to families within the Barnet and St Albans areas, allowing me to build a strong understanding of the local community’s needs.

I hold a **SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) qualification**, obtained in 2022, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to support children with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the individualized care and attention required for their development.

In addition, I have completed various safeguarding-related training, including **Safeguarding** courses in 2022, 2023, and 2024, to ensure I am up-to-date with the best practices in child protection and maintaining a safe environment. I also hold a **12-hour Paediatric First Aid certification**, obtained in 2022, and renewed in 2024, ensuring that I am well-prepared to respond to any medical emergencies involving children.

Furthermore, I have completed **GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)** training in 2022, 2023, and 2024, ensuring that I handle sensitive information in compliance with current data protection laws. I also hold **Prevent Duty** training, completed in 2022, 2023, and 2024, to safeguard children from radicalization and ensure their overall well-being.

To further confirm my suitability for working with children, I hold an **Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)** check, which provides assurance that I am fully vetted to work in a childcare environment.

These qualifications, combined with my practical experience, have provided me with a solid foundation in delivering high-quality, safe, and responsive care to children and families.
