Hello, my name is Sasha! I’m 21 years old and currently studying Journalism at Robert Gordon University. I’m bilingual—English is my first language, and Slovak is my second.
I grew up helping care for my younger sister, who is now 13, and I’ve always felt like a loving second mum to her. We spend lots of time watching Disney movies, trying out new hairstyles on each other, and playing with our cat, Ponyo.
I’m a naturally creative and active person. I love dancing, making art, writing, travelling, cooking, and spending time outdoors. I'd like to say that I bring the same sense of fun, warmth, and curiosity into the time I spend with children.
My Experience
I have several years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. While still in high school, I regularly looked after children on weekends and occasionally stayed overnight in the family’s home.
I also volunteered for 10 days at a Youth Centre in Edinburgh, where I helped prepare snacks and led lots of creative activities—from dance routines to painting and crafts.
Every summer, I spend time with my family in Slovakia, where I’ve assisted in a local primary school teaching English. This involved helping with homework, marking assignments, and creating playful learning activities such as games and songs.
These experiences I have enjoyed so much and have also taught me the importance of patience, creativity, and creating a safe, supportive environment where children feel happy and cared for.
My Qualifications
Completed High school and currently in my second year of a Bachelor's (Hons) degree.
My Availability
Currently, I'm available at any time and day of the week until I start University again at the end of January. If I find a family, I'd love to continue babysitting throughout my studies!
