About Me
My name is Ellie, I am 23 years old, living in Danehill. I am available for adhoc babysitting, tutoring and mothers help for up to 6 hours on weekends and evenings.
I have just completed my BA with honours in Childhood and Youth Studies with a 2:1.
I spend the majority of my time when I am not working with my puppy Nala, my friends and my family. I currently work for an organisation which supports vulnerable children and young people in a variety of ways. My passion is in working to support children and young people and help to promote their angency and freedom.
I really enjoy cooking as well as anything creative, especially messy play!
I am more than happy to help with cooking and anything with pets as well as I love animals!
I am also fully covid vaccinated.
My Experience
I have a 2:1 in BA in Childhood and Youth Studies which I studied at Sussex uni. I also have a full uk driving license and my own car so more than happy to travel but would prefer something local.
Currently working full time for an organisation which supports children and young people in a variety of ways including advocacy, specialist support, intermediary services, forensic interviews and more.
2023-2024: Child contact centre supervisor working to support children and families.
2023: Part-time work in a SEN school as a teaching assistant whilst studying.
2022: Nannying work for two agencies and adhoc babysitting
I gained a great relationship with many parents and families and great professional bonds with the children I take care of. I take pride in tailoring everything I do to the individual child I am caring for as I am very empathetic and considerate of every child and what is going on in their own world around them. I feel it is extremely important to understand and listen to the child and appreciate what is important to them and how you can support them but also educate and communicate clearly along the way.
March 2021 to July 2022: Local nursery
At this setting I gained a range of experience with children from 5 months to 3/3.5 years. I have learned how to cope during stressful situations, made incredible professional bonds with the children, gained knowledge on child development and the EYFS. I decided to move on from this role to gain further experience in a nannying environment where I felt I could gain more knowledge and expertise.
On top of this I have experience from taking care of my step sisters (one 9 and the other 23 months).
I have level 3 health and social care, paediatric first aid training, and experience from my previous role working for the ambulance service as a 999 call handler with a vast amount of training involved.
I have also volunteered in settings with older children 4-6 in a primary school and in a SEND school with children and young people at a range of ages. And have been working in a SEND primary school since February, so have experience in a variety of special needs.

Ellie has been a great find for us. I needed quite flexible hours which doesn’t suit most people but luckily it works for both of us. Ellie looks after my youngest daughter (7months) who warms to her right away. This means my daughter has no problem getting to sleep in her care and is always happy and content when she’s handed back over to me. Ellie is conscientious and has a lovely calm manner, we hope to be able to have her help for as long as possible!

Ellie has asked me to write a review. My initial thought was; ‘of course! Then I thought: ‘No! I don’t want to share her!’
But, self interest aside!
Ellie is kind, capable and reliable. She has a natural affinity with children, and both my girls accepted her straight away. (15 mo twins) She’s especially good at soothing them when they wake mid nap, and can get them back off to sleep. She’s also makes them laugh, and is patient. She’s very easy going and a pleasure to have in our home, and is happy to muck in and help with anything. She has been nothing short of brilliant, a godsend for me after a serious back operation, and a diamond in general.
A note on the stars…. Some aren’t relevant as she comes to our house, but I had to put something and didn’t want to put just 1 in case it brought her rating down. She definitely gets a 5 star rating from us.
