About Me
Despite the foreign sounding name I was born in Camberwell (se London) and grew up in Dulwich and Forest Hill, I am a mum and grandmother . I volunteered at my local church for 10 years running the Sunday school for children aged 3 to 11. My setting is a Home from Home environment. I provide a safe and loving place where children learn through play ( currently following Government guidelines for EYFS framework). I love being outdoors and exploring nature with the children. Activities in my setting include reading, sing and sign (Makaton) exploring our world local woods, park toddler groups, art and craft, role play.
My Experience
I have been a Childminder for nearly 24 years. I was also an NVQ Assessor and Trainer in Early years working together with City & Guilds to make sure that Nursery workers and Child Minders met the requirements both educationally and practically to receive an NVQ qualification. I ran a crèche for mums for/who had Special needs Care.
My Qualifications
NVQ level 3 Early Years, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and child protection. Food hygiene, Maths in the outdoors, Makaton, Meeting EYFS. Birth to Three matters.
My Availability
I am available Monday to Friday, 7.30 to 6pm ( later time can be negotiated if needed) at the moment I only work Monday and Tuesday in the school half term.

I cannot sing the praises of Janan enough. Otherwise known as Jan Jan in my house has looked after my daughter 5 days a week from one years old. Her warmth and reassuring nurture she has allowed my daughter to flurish.
She cooks excellent homemade food, and as a consequence my daughter relishes dishes which I would not normally make for her.
She encourages independence through enabling children to know that they are safe to try new activities.
What is really lovely is that my daughter has made some amazing friendships with the other children that she looks after.
She is very prompt at replying to messages and is excellent at relaying how the day has gone.
I was very lucky to have found her in the most informative years.

We are so lucky we were introduced to Jan. She has cared for Alfie since he was 11 months old and has been such a wonderful calm, kind and supportive presence in our lives and that of our little boy. She is very calm and gentle but also fun and knowledgeable. She has so much experience that nothing phases her- very useful if you are a nervous new parent.
I work odd and changeable hours and jan has been incredibly flexible and helpful with my schedule and with extra help during our recent house move.
She is also very attentive and notices things about Alfie that shows she’s really attuned to him and attentive to his needs which was really important to us.
She attends local playgroups and makes home made proper food for the children which was also a big plus for us. It really is a home from home environment where we feel like we’re dropping him off with a lovely auntie rather than to an impersonal childcare setting.
Jan is also excellent at communicating but isn’t on her phone all the time which is also a major plus.
Can’t recommend highly enough.
