My Experience

Having previously taught in the mainstream education system for 15 years, then progressing into SEN for 6 years, now, I currently tutor students who are homeschooled and those with complex SEN needs.

My main experience as an SEN teacher/tutor has been with children with Autism, PDA, ADHD and SEMH needs. Both of my nephews are autistic and also have PDA, so also have experience of these needs in relation to home life.

I feel for many of the children with these needs the orthodox forms of education we have taught do not work.

Having horses myself, I'm very passionate about learning in alternative ways, particularly equine assisted learning. Horses can act as teachers (minus the paper and pens). They allow children to feel accepted, just by being themselves. Working with horses allows children to practice skills without any fear of judgement, which in turn, can help boost confidence, independence and self-esteem.

Other area of specialism includes Entrance Exams and Psychology up to A level. I teach students across the UK and around the globe. Students come from such places as Singapore, Hong Kong and China, of which a number of students have successfully gained places at top UK schools such as Eton and Winchester.

I also have a fab team of qualified tutors that work with me so, any subjects that I don't teach, they more than likely will.

I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education with qualified teacher status.
