About Me
Hello, My name is Dirk and my wife is Charlotte. We have two wonderful children, Lowen (4) and Louis (2). We live right next to the open green space on the Thames in Kingston and love to be outdoors, exploring, riding bikes, digging in sand pits and meeting other people. We are a musical family and both Lowen and Louis enjoy singing and playing anything that makes a sound (usually my pans). I work as a marine biologist and have taught the children (especially) Lowen the importance of caring for our planet and animals. Both the children love reading stories and really enjoy their trips to the library. Lowen really enjoys drawing, number problems and puzzles. Louis enjoys food and is obsessed with apples and balls. I am also Dutch so love everything orange and cycling.
My Requirements
We are flexible on this. as a minimum we need someone to take Lowen to school and pick him up again in the evening. Louis is currently at nursery but if extra hours are needed we could look to reduce his days to half or have complete days with a nanny. we are keen to find a solution that suits everyone.
In terms of getting Lowen to school, he goes to Hampton Court House which is about 2 miles away. The traffic is really bad so we always cycle. We have a Tern Electric bike which is very easy to use and safe. The route is 100% off-road and very safe. It is one of the reasons why we live in Kingston. The boys are very competent on the bike and will listen very carefully and do exactly as they are told. We would look for a nanny who is comfortable cycling the children. Their is also the option to take a slight detour through Home Park or Bushy Park to say hello to the deer and horses, which the boys love.
My mum (their Oma) looks after the boys every Thursday. Her day is flexible, apart from Monday and Tuesdays, so this could be moved.
