About Me
I am empathetic, caring, and sometimes silly! I love having fun with children of different ages; whether that be playing chase and hide & seek with younger children, or playing games and learning about the interests of older children. I break information down depending on a child’s academic and attentional abilities, and enjoy helping children grow in confidence in school and life in general. I love watching children grow and develop, and find it really rewarding knowing that I have played a small part in it.
My Experience
I have been working with children for almost four years in multiple different settings. I worked in a clinical setting with children aged 2-13 who were autistic, had ADHD, learning difficulties and sensory processing issues. I worked to help these children develop essential skills required for life; such as cognition, attention, behaviour, communication, emotional regulation and independent skills. Additionally, I worked at an SEN school with autistic children. My role as a one-to-one tutor was to create a productive and exciting environment for reception-aged children to learn and follow the EYFS goals. I have also worked as a tutor for children sitting the 11+ and 13+ examinations. I enjoy breaking down information in an interactive and enjoyable way so that children are more able to grasp concepts. Ultimately, I love building confidence in children; be it in the classroom or in life in general.
My Qualifications
I have an Enhanced DBS Check which is on the Update system. Additionally, I took part in Paediatric First Aid Training at the beginning of 2022, and also have completed courses in Safeguarding Children 1 and 2. I studied Biology and Psychology BSc at Newcastle University, and am currently studying MSc Child Development at UCL.
