About Me
Hi there. My name is Portia, I’m 31 years old and am a qualified primary school teacher.
I have been teaching for the last year, and was a teaching assistant for 2 years prior.
I adore my job, and love forming meaningful bonds with the children in my care.
I have experience with children from infancy to early teens. I have worked closely with children with additional learning needs and have had particular success with children on the autistic spectrum.
I am more than happy to bring my classroom knowledge to help with homework, or to just support your children to have fun in a safe and loving environment.
My Experience
I am a PGCE qualified primary school teacher. I am particularly passionate about working with foundation aged children, but I have experience in all age groups from infancy to early teens.
Prior to my teaching degree, I worked as a teaching assistant. During this time, I worked in a variety of roles and settings, and gained invaluable experience with children from a range of demographics.
I have experience of working successfully with children with additional learning needs, and have extensive experience with those on the autistic spectrum.
Prior to my work in the classroom, I was a trained graphic designer. I love combining these two passions to come up with fun, creative activities for children.
My Qualifications
I have a postgraduate certificate of education, as well as a college diploma, and a degree in Graphic Design.
I have my DBS certificate, and am registered with the Education Workforce Council.
My Availability
During the school holidays, I am able to be very flexible with my time. In term time, a may be able to supply evening, weekend or emergency work.
My biggest restriction is transport, as I do not have access to a car. I will need to be able to get to you via public transport.

- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
My base rate is £10 per hour, with an additional £5 per hour, per extra child.
