My Summary
About Me
I grew up in the beautiful countryside, in a town called Stroud. This is where I attended school and sixth form. I loved living in the countryside, because I love being outdoors, however I moved Bristol to meet new people and experience life in the city, where hopefully I can have fun, work hard and gain more life experience. In the future I hope to be able to travel around the world.
My Experience
I currently work as a SEN teaching assistant five days a week.
I have been a baby sitter for children in my local area since I was aged 15. I looked after a few different children, their ages ranging from 3 years old to 12 years old. I would often play with the children in the evenings keeping them entertained as well as keeping them safe. Sometimes this meant playing with toys, reading books or going to the local park. I would also be responsible for putting the children to bed, making sure they brushed their teeth and turned lights off at the right time.
I would as a General Teaching Assistant for three weeks in October 2020. This was five school days a week in a year 6 class room. My role was to aid the class teacher with marking and displays displays, getting work sheets and other activities ready for the children. I also help the children that struggled in certain subjects, taking small groups of children away from the main class to complete activities or reading exercises.
I then worked for six months as a one-to-one Teaching Assistant in a year 1 class room. My role was to keep a child with autism safe and happy at school. This was a challenging job, but one I was good at. I would have to organise activities and make visual timetables for the child as well as provide clear communication and comfort for the child throughout the school day.
When I was in my final year of sixth form I volunteered to run an art club for the year 7 students. I did this for the majority of the year. Me and another student were in charge of the art club, coming up with plans for each session and helping the year 7s with the activities.
