My Summary
About Me
Based in Belper.
I live with my husband and five of our six children aged between 4 and 20.
My eldest daughter also works as an assistant full time.
Children will learn through play and each child’s journey will be as unique as they are.
We encourage children through various activities taking into account their interests an abilities.
We have a good sized garden, with plenty of play equipment
we spend lots of time exploring outside.
We have a playroom and lots of toys and books for all ages we rotate this around so the accessible toys change regularly.
We use a lot of Montessori style toys and encourage lots of free play, sensory and messy play.
I believe if a child is happy and having fun, using their imagination this will encourage development in all areas.
We’ve recently started our journey into getting accredited with the curiosity approach.
We also plan to include forest school, yoga and early phonics into our weekly activities.
Parents are the most important people in child’s life, I like to work closely with parents to support their parenting styles
My Experience
I have experience with all aged children, having had 6 of my own.
I have worked in various nursing settings before having my younger children.
I’ve experience with children with various additional needs.
I am cub leader and have various fundraising/event organising roles in the community
My Qualifications
BSC in Biology
I’ve completed all the necessary childminding qualifications through childminding Uk to register with ofsted.
Paediatric First aid
Food hygiene certificate
Safeguarding
A plan to do another degree in early years soon.
I would also like to do courses in forest schooling and Montessori
Working towards curiosity approach accreditation
My Availability
My working hours are 7am until 6pm.
My children go to St. John’s Primary school so I currently offer before and after school care for this school only.
I also have availability to offer wrap around care for the nursery in a morning or afternoon.

Nicola has change my little boys life completely before sending him to her and goergia he'd never been in Any sort of childcare before now hes so confident and outgoing! Really becoming his own character! She is absolutely brilliant and really goes the extra mile for our boy! Also keeps us informed on his day which i love! Highly reccomend! 100%

My daughter has come on leaps and bounds with Nicola, improved her mood with lots of good activities for her, nice safe environment to flourish. Her motor skills and communication skills have improved from the interaction with her, her assistant and learning off the older children. Would recommend to any prospective parents that need a childminder.
