My Experience

I worked for 3 years in a SEND boarding school within the therapy department.
I worked in pastoral and boarding, and centred the care I provided around the physical, emotional and social well-being of the child. The SEND needs of the children in the school are primarily Dyslexia, however some children have mild autism and/or ADHD.
I have been babysitting for 10 years and have been a live in nanny on two separate occasions for two different families. One of these nannying roles was in America for the duration of just over a year.
Working in an independent school, I had a large amount of holiday across the year. Often in these, I picked up extra work to keep me busy. This was normally holiday camps, providing activity and free school meals to children, some with SEND needs again, including ADHD, autism, as well as down syndrome and other learning disabilities, across a range of severity. These children again ranged from 4 years through to 16.
I am no longer working in the school and am now working shift work which does not allow me to pick up babysitting work frequently. I am keeping my profile open for any emergency babysitting positions that come up where I may be able to help

My Qualifications

I have a degree in English Language and Psychology.
I have a range of qualifications from working, including first aid, mental health first aid, counselling, safeguarding, SEND, ELSA(Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and a range of other less relevant ones but that still add to my knowledge of working with children and people
