About Me
Hello everyone. My name is Kenzie, I am 18 years old. I am currently studying NC in Childcare at College and my biggest passion is working with young children.
I have a very friendly approachable manner which is extremely helpful when working with children and families everyday, I feel confident when speaking to parents about their child’s day and can communicate very well with anyone.
I am a very motivated and hard working person keen to make a future in childcare. Although very young still, I have already gained some formal and informal experience in the field. I started looking after my younger brother and then started baby sitting family friends’ children frequently. As I grew older, I grew more confident and started babysitting more.
I enjoyed myself so much that i was sure this is what I wanted to pursue as a career. I decided to quit school and go into a full time employed position whilst simultaneously working towards the SVQ but instead wanted to start it again through college as I knew this would be the best decision for me.
I received the employee of the month when I first started in the nursery and was very proud of myself as I was obviously doing very well. When I was in school, I also got a certificate for passing food and hygiene in 3rd year which I was also proud of.
These are great achievements that I can hold onto for my future.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my dogs, baking and spending time with my family and friends.
My favourite activity to do with the children is taking them on days out to the zoo and seeing all the animals. I’ve always been very passionate about caring for others so I’ve decided to keep on that path and do what I love doing.
My Experience
Throughout the years I’ve had multiple opportunities for babysitting, and also love animals.
I am comfortable working with children of ages ranging from infants to pre-schoolers. I feel I have a lot to offer these children and am humbled knowing the immense difference a good supporting environment can make on these impressionable minds. I am a good artist and also good at crafts. I enjoy doing arts and crafts with the children and using all different materials to ensure they are using their fine motor skills. I enjoy providing simple and challenging learning experiences to the children.
I do have a lot of experience with animals as I have grown up as an animal lover and had multiple pets such as dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoise, fish and hamsters so would be willing to look after if needed.
While studying at school I took on a babysitting job for over a year, 3 hours per night (6pm-9pm) Monday to Friday and I gained a lot of experience from working with two twin boys. They loved learning new things such as adding and subtracting, arts and crafts and their favourite thing to do was cuddle.
On weekends I started taking out a friends baby and I’ve watched her grow up just from she was 10months to now 2-1/2. It has been the best opportunity for me as I get to spend time with her weekly and see her grow up and learn new words.
Over the years, I have looked after children of various ages for family and friends until gaining my first job in early years. I’m confident with children of all ages, ethnicity and have a lot of experience working with children that require extra support with their disability.
I’ve got a great imagination when it comes to keeping children entertained. In my last job I was previously thinking of arts, crafts and new activities for the children to try to keep them feeling motivated to learn new things. I find it very easy to build new relationships with children and their parents/guardian and find it a great honour that trust is put in me in this position.

My Availability
As I have previously mentioned. I study NC Childcare at College for a full-time course. This is ending in two weeks time but I’ve started a new job that is a breakfast club and after school club.
So my availability is on the chart below.
Over the holidays I am free most of the time and would help out anytime when needed.
