My Summary
About Me
My name is Gemma and I'm an Ofsted Registered childminder and also have a diploma in childcare.
I have worked in the childcare industry for 28 years.
I live in Staines in a pet free, smoke free home.
I have lots and lots of experience and am very confident with newborns, multiple births, babies and young children.
I was a nanny for 8 years with 4 families before becoming a childminder once I had my own children.
As a childminder I have the freedom to take children out or stay home.
Our days can consist of visits to local playgroups, as well as play parks, walks by the river, playing in the enclosed safe garden, messy play with painting, playdough and lots of glue, role play, music sessions and lots more….
I keep parents involved in their child’s education with starting points and then their next steps!
I feel I am very friendly, approachable and easy to get on with.
I offer a home from home experience with lots of attention and cuddles when needed.
If you would like to chat more, please don't hesitate to get in contact.
I have references and lots more experience to talk about.
Please email with any questions you may have about me or what you are looking for.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Gemma.

My 2 little girls are so fortunate to be in the care of Gemma for up to 3 days a week. They have been cared for in an extremely loving and caring home, learning life skills and manners I also instill in my own upbringing. My eldest is off to nursery and will miss Gemma and her family immensely, but she is going off with such strong ground roots. Not only has Gemma helped her become a caring, funny, compassionate little girl, she has also extended her love of learning and it has been a joy to recieve photos and assessments of her progress.
My youngest started just before lockdown and I was gutted she didnt get the early start with Gemma my eldest did. As restrictions lifted they both started back and Gemma has managed to continue to provide her fantastic services in a safe and reassuring environment. The girls get so much outdoor time and I'm confident in all the measures Gemma has in place during this unusual time.
I would not hesitate to recommend Gemma to anyone looking for a home from home for their children and I am already looking forward to my youngest going back full time after the holidays when I head back to my teaching assistant role.
My daughter could not be happier in a child care setting. She has been with Gemma since she was 3 months old and from day one I’ve felt comfortable leaving her with Gemma.
Gemma has time for all her children and nothing brightens my day more than a quick photo in my lunch break of what my daughter has been up to. She is always socialising, communicating and learning and I love that Gemma shares the same parenting ideals as myself and supports any crazy methods I might be trying. I also really appreciate her tips for a first time mum!
Sometimes I notice my daughter doing a new skill and I know I have Gemma to thank (most recently using her water bottle to get water out to wash her hands 🤣)
Not only does Gemma care for my daughter but her fantastic family also love and care for her.
I will be gutted when the day comes when my daughter no longer needs to go to Gemma but I will definitely be sending any future children to her and I know she will always have time for my children, even when they are 18!
Since my son has been in Gemma's care for over a year now, I felt it was time for an update from my previous review. Still absolutely over the moon with Stanley being in Gemma's care. Stanley has just blossomed with her, she's taught him so many things, she's helped me with his behaviour as I previously struggled with it at home, even though he was good as gold for her. She keeps in good contact with his nursery setting so she knows exactly what milestones Stanley is at and which ones he needs to work for next. Always get a lovely welcoming when we arrive each morning, and there's not a day when Stanley hasn't enjoyed himself with Gemma. They're always going out, doing things, meeting up with other childminders and children, always having pictures sent to me on a daily basis so I can see what they've been up too. I'll be devestated when Stanley goes to school this coming September and he has to leave her, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gemma to anyone. X
Gemma took care of my children, Olly (born 2007) and Evie (b. 2013) since they were both 6 months old. During that time, Gemma was been less a nanny and more a surrogate mummy, with both Olly & Evie loving the time they spent with her. As parents, we were thrilled to find Gemma and it made returning to work easier knowing our children were under the guidance of such a sensible and loving role model. I would not hesitate in recommending Gemma’s childcare services to anyone as she is extremely competent, conscientious and trustworthy.
Gemma has played a huge part in the development of Olly and Evie, taking care of them as if they were her own, from nurturing and caring to instilling good discipline and manners. Gemma plans their time and includes a range of activities which are not only fun but educational with playdates, craft sessions, trips to the park, attending soft play as well as ensuring our older child completed his school home-learning activities. In the holidays, additional activities are included with the children rarely being inside if the weather allows.
Gemma was great at keeping my husband and I updated with the progress of the children, letting us know of any potential issues such as even being tired from an insistence on walking and not getting in the pram on a school run! She worked to our routines, and helped with key milestones such as weaning, dropping naps and helping with potty training, providing feedback and working very much as a partner which meant there was the crucial consistency between her time and our time.
Overall, Gemma has been a hugely positive influence in our entire families lives. She’s taken us into her family and become very much part of ours. Whilst Olly and Evie might not go to Gemma's for their daycare arrangements, they see her regularly and if I ever lose them in the playground, I know who they'll have spotted and run to!!
My son has been in Gemma's care for 4 days a week since September. He settled in so quickly with her and we've all been really happy. Gemma is very accommodating to my childcare needs. My son is like a part of their family, it's so lovely to see. Gemma always takes my son out to playgroups, softplays etc. He's learnt so many different things from her and built a very good relationship with the whole family. She's always sending me pictures of what they've been up too and I always receive lovely seasonal crafts (Christmas cards, valentines cards etc) that my son has made. She's very friendly and so supportive. I couldn't ever imagine her not being my childminder. Love her!! Definitely recommended
