My Summary
About Me
Hi, my name is Sophie and I am a Norwegian/English student, studying Law at UCL. I absolutely love working with kids. I would really love to work with a warm family that I get to know, work well with, and have similar approaches to child-rearing. Due to my experience, I am most confident working with kids ranging from 4-7 years old; however I am happy to work with other ages.
I grew up in Hong Kong, Norway and China, and my first language is English. I am very much a family girl and am looking to find a nice family to work with and look after their children.
My Experience
I have now worked 2 consecutive summers at a summer Camp (2021-22), where I led my own group of 8-16 children (Between the ages of 4-7). I really loved working there, got an early pay raise due to high performance and received an employee of the camp award. Through these summer camps, I really learnt how to deal with children fighting, missing their parents, mood swings, silly mess ups, accidents and more. I have now also developed a very long list of fun games to play with kids (especially within the age-range of 3-7), as well as have my own collection of boardgames at home that I would love to bring and teach them (and possibly help use at birthday parties). I am thoroughly missing this summer job and would love to work with some kids that I can love, chat with and watch grow.
I have been a volunteer sunday school helper and teacher since I was 14, working with kids from the ages of 3-9. I have become very comfortable working with kids through this experience, but also want to assure you that I will not use any religious learning activities/games etc with your children unless you explicitly ask me to. The summer camp was a non-religious camp, and so I am very comfortable with non-religious environments and teaching methods.
My Qualifications
Student: 2nd year, UCL, LLB Law degree
Summer Camp Leader for 8 camps
Sunday School Helper for 9 years
My Availability
My study schedule hasn't been fully released yet unfortunately (it will hopefully update within the next two weeks). I have 10 hours of contact (classes) every week, so I should be pretty flexible and able to work within your scheldule(s).
Please contact me directly, and I can send you my class timetable to ensure that our times do coincide. The time periods I've set out are not necessarily set, so please feel free to reach out to double check whether we are able to work together.
I am looking to do within 10 hours per week, with the occasional increase if needed (eg date night, special adult events etc). I would also really appreciate a family who is a bit more flexible with my work hours when it comes to my exam period (April-May 2023).

I arguably do have a lot of experience with children, and am confident in my abilities. I do like to do well in my job and put in a lot of energy to ensure that my kids are happy. I am therefore asking for a bit more.
