About Me
I am an Early Years Reception Teacher who has been working with young children for over 30 years. I am married with 2 grown up daughters and have been teaching reception aged children for 9 years. My approach to teaching is to provide fun and engaging lessons that make children feel confident as well as keeping them interested, motivated and engaged.
I plan lessons according to each individual child, assessing the child's all-round development, identifying areas of need.
I am particularly passionate about phonics and Singapore maths and have many fun and interactive methods as well as resources to support children's learning.
My Experience
I began my career with children by qualifying as NVQ Level 3 Early Years Practitioner over 30 years ago and have worked with young children ever since.
I graduated from university in 2011 with an Early Years Education degree and have been teaching reception aged children since 2013. During this time, I have continued with my professional development which has involved Singapore Maths training and delivering government approved phonic schemes such as Letters and Sounds and fft Success for all phonics.
I particularly enjoy teaching Early Years aged children, whether it is preparing children for school, developing their phonic/reading and maths skills or promoting physical development to aid letter and number formation. Your child's development will be my main focus and I will always keep you updated on your child's progress.
