About Me
Hi there! We’re a family of 5 (including our cat, Marley) who have just moved to Weybridge. We are looking for someone who wants to join our team to look after Keira (3.5) and Max (16 months). The kids spend most of their time at a childminder in Twickenham during the week, and we are looking for someone to support us with wrap around care and the commute between the two locations.
My husband, Ed and I, really want someone we can welcome into our family and work closely with. We are quite relaxed people albeit with high standards, and we aim to look after you and work with you to find the best solutions.
We both work hard, but making sure the kids are ok and happy is top priority. We value dependency, reliability and a strong work ethic. We're looking for someone who is going to care for our kids as if they were their own, someone who can be flexible when needed, and someone who wants to work with us to ensure the best care for our children.
We are happy to work with someone who is keen to progress and gain qualifications as much as people who are experienced and know childcare like the back of their hard. Fundamentally, we want someone who cares, loves childcare, and cares about our kids.
Keira, our eldest, is quite sensitive, and whilst she loves people and makes people very welcome, she needs to form a really strong bond with someone to feel comfortable. She is much happier interacting and playing. Max, our youngest, can be quite a sensitive soul, but on the whole is much happier to play by himself and pop over for the odd hug or interaction when he wants. They are ace kids (but then I am slightly bias!).
My Requirements
What we're looking for....our requirements are going to evolve with time, and we're looking to work with someone who ideally wants to evolve with us. Up until September 2025 these are our requirements:
Mornings (Mon-Thur)
- picking the kids up at 6:50 in Weybridge and drop them in Twickenham. We know this isn't the most sexy job so we will pay 2 hours (when it can be a 30min trip door to door), plus petrol
Afternoons (Mon-Thur)
- picking the kids up at 4pm in Twickenham and bringing them home to Weybridge. We'd ask you give them dinner and play with them until we finish work at 6pm. We will pay for petrol between the childminders and home.
It tots up to 16 hours. We are calling these core hours and we will pay them every month even if we go on holiday (unless you are ill or take holiday when we are working). What we ask is for some flexibility in return so if we are running late from work or would like an evening out, you might be kind enough to share some of the time we've paid for back. Believe me, this doesn't happen too often!
Adhoc
There is also the option to pick up adhoc hours (up to 3) on a Friday and to potentially pick up extra days as the childminder closes for holidays throughout the year.
After September 2025, Keira will go to school and our needs will shift, with an opportunity to pick up additional hours during school holidays and Mon-Thur as Max will need collecting earlier from Twickenham to get back for the school run.
If you are interested in discussing the role further, please get in touch. Thanks :)
