My Summary
About Me
Hi I’m Olivia and I have a degree in Childhood Studies and previously worked as a teaching assistant for 4 years across early years and KS1.
Since March 2023 I have been working on P&O’s cruise ships completing 4 months contracts on Britannia, Arvia, and Azura. Onboard I worked in the youth department, caring and entertaining children on their holidays, and giving their families the opportunity for free time for meals and activities away from their children. I love both the education and entertainment side of childcare and would love to help take some pressure of parents by providing my services.
My Experience
Previous experience also includes, a role that began in June 2018 when I started Nannying for a family during the summer holidays. At the time Mum needed help with twin girls 18m and G3. My days included following the girls nap routines, during which I would help with household jobs including their laundry and maintaining the children’s areas. I would then prepare and provide them with nutritious meals, dress them for the day where we would play outdoors, paint and have picnics or go for day trips to the museum or to the farm. Finally I would help Mum with bath and bedtime in time in time for Dad getting home. I have also traveled for holidays with this family, and currently still occasionally babysit, and nanny for them when needed.
This family recommended me to younger family in a similar position, who had twin G1 and G5. Mum was due to start back at work, and needed help but had limited family support. This role involved both sole and shared care, during which I supported mum with the twins, nap routine and helped with weaning and feeds, and generally providing a second pair of hands whenever needed.
All roles have given me amazing experiences to support my Childhood studies Degree of how to care for children, and provide fun and engaging activities to keep children entertained and help them learn new skills.
