About Me
Hi, my name is Charlene and I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder.
I am a Mum of two, I have a little boy (3) and a girl (6).
Before having my own children, I worked in many nursery and school settings which I really loved.
I am very calm and patient person I love working with young children to help them have fun, learn, grow, develop and explore.
I provide a safe and secure home from home environment where all children can feel safe, welcomed, included, cared for and loved. At my home setting I have a playroom where children will be able to play, explore, learn and have fun with a range of activities and resources to select from. I plan activities based on the children's interests and support them in extending their learning following the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I also have a large garden space where children can explore a range resources such as bikes, scooters, role-play area, climbing, sand and water play, mark making opportunities, reading, etc.
It is important to also get out and about we visit different places such as the local library, children centre groups, farms, parks, garden centres, museums and walks.
My Experience
I have over 10 years experience working with children from babies - reception age. I have worked in many nurseries and schools. I started off as a nursery assistant and gradually progressed to Nursery Supervisor/Manager.

Our little boy David is one year, and I was so worried about sending him to a nursery as he suffers from eczema and requires a lot of attention. We went to visit Charlene and we immediately liked her, she is very caring and sweet with the kids, she has a lot of experience working in nurseries, she even knew my daughter from one of the local nurseries.
Her setting is lovely, tidy and safe for children. No steps or rooms but an open space area with lots of natural light and toys.
My little boy has been going to Charlene for about 6 months and he loves it. There hasn't been a time where he cries. Charlene keeps us updated on how David is ia doing on the day which is very reassuring.
She has all the required training and certifications too, that is something we really liked too, she is very organised and do things right.
I would recommend her 100% for parents that want someone caring and loving to look after your children.

I recently returned to work full time and needed childcare for my two youngest and first started looking at day nurseries which just felt far too big for my 1 year old in particular. I am so thankful I found Charlene! From the very first day, my children have been so happy to be with her. My littlest throws her arms out to her when she opens the door in the morning and is always so happy and chilled when I go to pick her up.
Charlene's set up at home is a child's paradise. The space is clean, spacious and so organised! She has an abundance of toys and books and puts so much thought into rotating things each day. The garden is safe and always full of fun things to do. She has incredible creativity when it comes to organising daily developmental activities at home and also takes the children to rhyme times, childminder groups and on other fun day trips - most recently they enjoyed a day out to Hendon RAF museum. Each day, I get an update with what they have done, nappy changes, naps, snacks etc and lots of beautiful photos.
Charlene provides healthy snacks each day and encourages my fussy kids to try new things which I am so grateful for! There is also safe, quiet space for children to have a nap when they need to.
Charlene's own children are an absolute delight and my children have built such a lovely relationship with them. I would highly recommend Charlene - she has made my transition back to work so easy and I never have to worry about whether my children are ok when they are with her.
