About Me
My name is Anne-Marie and I’m an OFSTED registered childminder based in Halewood Village. I offer a welcoming, safe and secure setting for children to play, learn and thrive. Before becoming a childminder, I worked as a primary school teacher for over 10 years. I am married and have two grown up children aged 19 and 16.
I have an excellent knowledge of child development and the EYFS framework, with many years experience working in Early Years. I can plan individualised and progressive activities for children in my care. I was inspected by OFSTED in June 2022 and was awarded GOOD.
The Little Acorns environment is cosy, safe and inviting. We have lots of fun! I supply a wide range of resources including loose parts play, wooden toys and a selection of open ended resources designed to inspire the children to use their imaginations.
Books are integral at Little Acorns and we have a daily story-time as well as lots of dedicated time throughout the day to share stories and books together. I practice yoga with the children and promote mindfulness through activities and stories.
The environment is inspired by elements of hygge, with soft lighting, cosy blankets, a love of nature and the promotion of kindness and togetherness. We spend lots of time outside and have a large garden and a paved area to play on. Your child may get dirty!

My Experience
Before becoming a childminder I worked as a primary school teacher. I have had many years experience working with children.
My mum established Little Acorns in 2012 and I started working alongside her in 2019. Mum retired at the end of 2022 and I am now working with an assistant called Jane who has 25 years experience working in early years education.
We have an excellent reputation and many of our children are siblings of older children and word of mouth recommendations.

We take 6-7 weeks holidays per year.
Little Acorns opens at 7.30am and closes at 5pm. We work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Our little girl absolutely loves Little Acorns, as do we as her parents!
It is a safe and happy place with 2 lovely teachers who run it.
They do lovely activities each day, with lots of variation, a lot of outdoor play in their lovely garden, painting, numbers, roleplay etc.
They send daily updates and pictures which are really lovely to see how your child is getting on and interacting with other children.
Healthy food and a very clean and lovely environment.
I was recomended Little Acorns by another local mum after an issue with a different local provider, it was the best decision I made for my little girl and we are so pleased with the care provided.
Would recomend to anyone!!

I would highly recommend Little Acorns to any parent or carer looking for a safe, nurturing, welcoming and stimulating environment for your child.
My daughter has been with Anne Marie, Sandra and Jane since May 2021. As she was a Covid 19 lock down baby, I was so worried about leaving her in a new setting with people she didn't know but Little Acorns were wonderful, they kept us updated on how she was doing and the fun activities that the children were involved in.
The children are so well looked after, the resources and activities are engaging and encourage learning, imagination, development in many areas but most of all fun. They are always singing, dancing and laughing.
Highly recommended childcare provider in Halewood.

I can not recommended Little Acorns enough. Ann-Marie and Jane are fun-loving, creative, educational, caring people, who have made a calming and safe environment for the children to flourish and grow in both skill and personality. The children are greeted at the door, they all know each other, and are taught to be kind and considerate. My daughter comes home happy, fulfilled, loved and calm. She is fed and watered well, changed when needed and I couldn’t rate this environment enough. If I could put a higher star rating I would. Well done to all and thank you 🙌🏼
