About Me
Hi, we are Mustard Seed; 'Through small opportunities great things can be achieved'.
We are Janet & Ny, two passionate and experienced OFSTED-registered childminders based in Sydenham with over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages. Together, we provide a home-from-home warm, nurturing, and safe environment where your child can learn, grow, and have fun both indoors and outdoors. We have a large selection of toys, books and learning equipment to meet all the children's needs and all areas of learning through child led play and having fun.
Activities: Our daily schedule includes a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, music and dance, story time, sensory play, and educational games that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Outings: We organise regular outings to local parks, libraries, and educational venues, providing children with the opportunity to explore and learn in different settings.
My Experience
Together we have many years of experience working in a nursery and school before becoming Ofsted registered childminders.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have Janet as our childminder. She truly goes above and beyond to provide nurturing, high-quality care for our daughter, ensuring her developmental needs are met in a way that feels both supportive and tailored to her unique personality.
Janet has a wonderful understanding of the stages of child development and uses this knowledge to guide her approach. She recognises where my daughter is in her journey, adapting activities and interactions to help her grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence. It’s reassuring to know she’s in such capable hands with someone who genuinely understands and respects her developmental needs.
Beyond her developmental approach, Janet creates a warm, caring environment that feels like a second home. She’s incredibly nurturing, always making sure my daughter feels safe, happy, and valued. At the same time, Janet is firm but fair, helping our daughter understand and respect boundaries. This balance has been so beneficial, as it’s taught her the importance of following rules in a positive, supportive way.
If you’re looking for a childminder who will truly care for your child and guide them thoughtfully through each stage, I cannot recommend Janet highly enough. We are so grateful for her dedication, kindness, and professionalism, which have made such a difference in our daughter’s life.
