About Me
I am a compassionate, fun-loving, motivated, passionate, principled, responsible and trustworthy individual :)
My Experience
Hi! My name is Steph :) I am a registered children’s/paediatric nurse, qualifying in 2008 and specialising in neonatal nursing since 2010, caring for both premature and term babies from birth onwards. Currently, I am employed as a Neonatal Sister at a local hospital and am studying for a postgraduate certificate for Advanced Practice in Infant Mental Health and Wellbeing. Additionally, I have recently enrolled onto the Advanced Maternity Nurse Training Level 5 course provided by Babyem, which is possible due to my extensive clinical experience.
My specialist interest centres on advocating for optimised perinatal and infant mental health and wellbeing, viewing the family as a whole unit. Research clearly indicates that the first critical 1001 days of an individual’s life, from conception to 2 years, is vital in achieving cognitive, physical, psychological and social developmental outcomes in later life.

I provide regular childcare for my nephews, aged 5 and 3 years, the eldest of whom has mild-to-moderate ASD.
I also provide weekly childcare for siblings aged almost 4 years and 18 months.
I aim to be very respectful of family preferences/wishes and recognise the importance in maintaining established routines as necessary. Equally, my job role requires me to be adaptable/flexible.
Seeing the world through youngsters’ eyes as they discover new aspects of life and interests is wonderful :)
I possess a positive mindset, leading an enriched and fulfilling life. I work full-time hours and volunteer extensively in various capacities, receiving acknowledgment for this via community award nominations.
My personal and professional experiences have taught me that promoting happiness and placing importance on both mental and physical health and well-being is hugely beneficial for children of all ages. Having fun and enjoying life is crucial.

My Availability
Please contact me directly for my most up-to-date availability. I receive my rota several weeks in advance, but typically work week day nights and long days/nights at weekends. For a long-term arrangement, I would consider adjusting my hospital-based hours as my ideal employment pattern would be to work both clinically and within a community/home setting supporting families.
