About Me
We are a busy family of four with an 11 year old boy and an 8 year old girl. Our son uses a wheelchair and we are looking for additional support at home to support his needs. He is chatty and cheerful and loves playing boardgames and the Xbox, but needs help due to his physical disability. His sister loves crafts and art.
My Requirements
We have a small team of fantastic helpers who help support our son and help him and his sister have an active life. We are currently looking for someone to work with us on Mondays after school (ideally 2pm to 8pm) and/or Saturdays overnight (ideally 8pm to 9am). The overnight duties are light but involve monitoring our son and helping him if he wakes in the night, allowing the rest of the family to sleep, and helping him get ready for the day in the morning. The after school work involves helping our son with his favourite activities and supporting him at mealtimes and getting ready for bed. No sole charge is required as one parent is always at home. Having help supporting our son also ensures we can spend quality time with our daughter, but she also often likes to join in and have some time chatting or playing with our helpers as well. Some experience of or interest in disability or other additional needs would be valuable but is not essential as full training would be provided. We find that the best people are those with a good rapport with children, regardless of previous experience. Additional shifts available when other team members are on holiday and in school holidays.
