About Me
I am a qualified teacher with 15 years experience working within special education. I am an accredited SENCo and hold an NPQ (National professional qualification) in senior leadership. I was the manager of an Inclusion Centre for children with communication and interaction difficulties for 9 years. I am currently a special educational needs consultant, working with schools and families to improve the outcomes for children with additional needs. I am passionate about neurodiversity and specialise in autism, communication and interaction and cognition and learning difficulties.
My favourite part of teaching is seeing children achieve and those wow moments, no matter how big or small.
I love delivering interventions, such as bucket time, identi play, PECs, TEACCH and zones of regulation.
I am available to deliver the primary and EYFS curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of each pupil.
I can also deliver specialist interventions and support the family to implement strategies at home to problem solve any social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
I am able to work with families in a SENCO capacity , offering support in the following areas:
- Applying for education, health and care plan (EHCP) needs assessments.
- Checking and challenging EHCPs or Annual Reviews.
- Attending annual reviews, coproduction meetings and other professionals meetings i.e. SALT, EP, OT, MABS etc.
- School searches.
- Supporting parents to find the right provision/ setting for their child.
- Support for tribunals and appeals.
