About Us

hdc Dartmouth is located nearby the vibrant and historic harbour, on the river Dart. The nursery has been beautifully redecorated, and offers hygge-inspired spaces for your child to rest, play, learn and develop. Our children’s nursery is perfect for military families, providing flexible hours and operating nearby the Britannia Royal Naval College.

The Orchard Room, home to our youngest children, has a large space with plenty of windows, light, and fresh air. Our professional approach is based on the personal needs and interests of each child, with our teams enabling active learning based on play and exploration. As they become more independent, emphasis on child-centred practice and growth will give them the self-reliance and confidence to thrive.

Our Meadow room has key areas and activities to capture the essential “learning in the moment”. The room has plenty of natural light and its own deck area to allow for fresh air and sunshine.

As children approach their third birthday, they will start a transition period from the Meadow into the Forest room where we have our Pre-School. Here they will experience a mix of child-led play and adult-led activities, as well as as a focus on planning in the moment and following the children’s interests, as their own curiosity spurs their individual learning.

The Forest room also has its own large private deck area, including a variety of activities, equipment, and a bug house where children can learn more about nature and wildlife. In addition to this, the children also share a fantastic garden area, where there are plenty of areas to explore, whilst encouraging development through outdoor play.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.
