My Summary
About Me
Hi I’m Mya I have been running my own family support business for 2 years now. (Myas’ Mini Milestones) I have 5 years experience in childcare at nurseries and forest schools.
My ethos is letting children be children. Meaning letting them explore risks, get messy, going on trips out and about, learning about the world around them, giving them real life experiences each and every time!
In my service all children and families will have a file, included is a learning journey, Information around development, services and up on request assessment of their development too.
I understand it’s a big step for parents and caregivers to let other people take care of your children, that is why I always like to have meeting with the caregivers and learn about their wonderful family. If both parties are happy and your child is comfortable and more than happy, I have some forms to sign so I know and can remember the children’s routine, allergies and emergency contacts etc.

My Experience
* Teaching assistant in Y1. Here I had the responsibility of embedding routine and helping children with their learning; navigating different ways to suit them so, they’ve got the best chance; whilst working alongside the teacher and the teaching assistant.
* In a preschool and had the chance to be a key worker having the roles and responsibility of planning for the children around a theme each term and assessing children's development and passing this over in parent meetings. Also I worked closely with the nursery, where I had a fantastic opportunity to take part in 1:1 care with a child with SEND.
* As a key worker having close working relationships with parents working with them to plan and support their child's development whilst also supporting staff team working to bring out best results and opportunities for the children. Also there we followed the curiosity approach this is have simple opened reasoures to spark children’s curiosity to then scaffold their learning based on their interests.
* At the forest nursery where I worked , I would walk from the nursery base to locations such as Endcliffe Park and Botanical Gardens with the children teaching them each time how to be road safe and keeping them safe in line with safeguarding policy and procedure. And regularly share with parents and carers all their wonderful adventures.

Mya is great with our 1-year-old triplets. She's easy to get along with, the kids all feel comfortable with her, and she has always been punctual. She often brings fun activities and tracks their development through personalized learning journeys. She's respectful of our parenting style and routines, working with us to provide a safe, loving, and of course fun environment for our children.
We've had Mya babysit our son a few times now and have been very pleased with how easily it progressed from the first meet to us being able to leave our son on his own with her.
Even after longer periods of time between sessions, he's felt comfortable with her very quickly and I take it as a sign he enjoys his time with her :).
I've found communication with Mya very easy and clear, she's flexible and takes into account parents' wishes, while also being able to make good decisions during the sessions herself when necessary. She's also been communicative during the sessions, so I've felt comfortable and at ease.
She's been very engaging with our son and has occasionally even brought along her own toys!
