About Me

I am a Childcare and Education Level 3 qualified practitioner who has experience working with children for the past 14 years. I have worked with children of all age groups from 3 months to 11 years. I have experience working in various settings such as private nurseries, state nurseries, and primary schools. I am enthusiastic, hard-working, and a good team player. My aim is to carry on working with children to support children with their learning and developmental needs. My main focus is to educate children through play, as well as through set activities in order to help develop children’s learning and development. I have previously worked in Montessori schools as well as other private nursery settings and state schools. I have experience working with children of all age groups from 3 months to 11 years. While working in these settings my role was to provide excellent childcare for all children. To safeguard and to educate children, as well as to provide for all children’s and parent's needs. By managing a range of duties within my daily routine in previous job roles I had to plan weekly for all children by setting up planned activities according to each child’s developmental needs, as well as to risk assess all areas of the classroom indoor and outdoor. To also make sure that all children are happy and safe within their play and learning environment. My main focus was to help develop children’s confidence, learning, and understanding within their learning environment through play. When working with children from 3 to 4 years – I worked alongside a teacher moving onto second in charge of a classroom as an early years practitioner. Within my role, I had to register children's absence and attendance, greet all children and parents, be in charge of circle time and other activities. I also had to also manage staffing rota and absence. I also had provided children with healthy nutritional snacks, lunch, tea, and dinner throughout the day matching each individual child’s dietary requirement. I had the responsibility of doing daily observations on children’s progress and development. I also had to teach them the Montessori method of learning; learning through play and exploring. My role’s main purpose was to safeguard all children and risk assess daily throughout the day the environment around us. From inside the classroom, to outside; in the playground, local outings, and planned trips. I also had the duty to work in partnership with parents by bringing learning from home into the classroom. I had to organise and arrange parent and teacher meetings each term in order to keep parents up-to-date and on track with their children’s learning and development. By discussing their child’s development and tracking their next steps. I was also in charge of arranging termly staff meetings. I have also been an After School Club’s manager and deputy manager and have the experience of managing an after-school club.
