My Summary

My Experience

I have worked with children since I was 16.

I began working in a special needs school from 18 as a Teaching Assistant completing my degree in Education in the evening. When I was 24 I completed my PGCE in Primary Education with Specialism in SEN then became a teacher in a Special Needs School where I have worked since. I also completed my Masters degree in Autism.

I have extensive experience of supporting children with Autism with profound and multiple learning needs. I have training and hands on experience in a range of communication strategies including PECS, Attention Autism, Signalong, Curiosity Programme and Intensive Interaction.

I also have experience of supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs and/or disabilities including Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Dyselxia and Dyspraxia, Global Delay and complex medical needs.

I specialise in early intervention support, communication interventions and positive behaviour support.
