About Me
Hello,
My name is Carol and I have been childminding for the past eighteen years.
My latest Ofsted Inspection , February 2024, I received ‘Outstanding’ for the second time.
I am a HEY childminder (Healthy Early Years), one of only 2 in Islington. My setting is a safe, fun and loving environment where you will feel happy to leave your child in my care while you work or study.
I provide a stimulating and wide range of activities for babies and children at home including an abundance of toys for all ages, arts and crafts, story time and singing sessions. I take the children on daily outings to Ambler Children Centre, local groups and drop-ins, parks, farms and libraries.
All meals and snacks provided are healthy and I am happy to go through menus with you to ensure any allergies or foods you do not wish your child to eat are taken into account.
I have references from past and present parents, one of the best ways for you to find out about the care i provide.
My home is very close to Finsbury Park and Arsenal tube, rail and bus stations.
My Experience
I have experience in caring for babies from 4 mths old, toddlers, pre-school, school age and twins.
Previously to becoming a childminder I worked in a playgroup for 2-5 year olds.
I have also worked for 4 years at Ambler Children's Centre as a childminder's base co-ordinator , running a group for childminder's and their minded children.
My Qualifications
I have a NVQ 3 in Childcare. I also have current certificates in First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.
I undertake several mini-courses a year, the latest being; NVQ 4 'Pushing the Boundaries', 'Maths for Fun', and 'Story Sacks’, ‘Mental Well-being’, and ‘Hygge in the early years’.
I am a member of the Islington Childminder's Network.
I have just completed a HEY Childminding course ( Healthy Early Years) and have become one of only 2 childminders in Islington to have achieved this. (Sep 2016).
My Availability
I work Monday - Thursday 8am-5.30. Please message me for details on vacancies and to discuss hours and days you require.
I have availability for school pick-ups from Gillespie Primary School.
I may also be available for emergency and occasional care. please get in touch with me to discuss availability.
I also offer babysitting in the evenings.

My Fees
- Childminding from £12.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
My fees are £90 per day, including morning snack, lunch and dinner.
£25 for school pick-ups, from 3.00-5.30 including dinner.
Any care after 5.30 would be £12 hour.
I do offer government funded places.

Both our girls had a great time at Carol’s setting. Both started when they were one year old respectively (just two years after another) and settling in was no problem.
Carol has an array of activities on offer and almost every day my girls came home with a painting, pasta necklace, some fingerprint art and and and.
Carol takes the children out to the park and meets with other childminders, so there’s lots of socialising possible. She also has a garden on offer.
During the pandemic she stayed in contact by sending videos; singing nursery rhymes or reading books.
I felt my girls were very safe with Carol and they always welcomed me with a big smile at pick-up time.

Our 2 year old son has been going to Carol’s setting for 18 months now. He absolutely loves her and misses her so much when he’s not there.
Carol is absolutely committed to creating a safe, loving, creative and developmental environment for children to grow and learn in.
We really value Carol’s communication with us about how our son is getting on and her ideas for how we can support his development.
Carol tailors her approach to each individual child and really takes the time to get to know her families. We would be absolutely lost without her!

Carol has had our two boys (6 and 2) in succession over the last 5 years.
We couldn't have found anyone better.
She's very experienced and conscientious, completely trustworthy, utterly reliable, and loving to boot. Both kids adore her and can't wait to go to hers.
Trying to think of a negative but we can't really - she doesn't work Fridays, but that suited our schedule.
Overall, we thoroughly recommend her.

Carol has looked after my three year old son for over a year, and I can see how she has made, and continues to make her mark on him.
Carol creates a lot of fun activities for kids under her care so they are stimulated and engaged, but she is also firm, calm and encouraging at the same time which in my opinion is a well balanced approach to nurturing children. My son who is naturally reserved has opened up since she started looking after him, always making him feel welcomed and being kept in mind. He looks forward to seeing her and his friends on the days he is cared for by her, and misses them when he is not there.
I have been incredibly forutnate that Carol lives a few doors away on the same street. I have had several experiences with other childcarers and I daresay that she is one of the very few whom I would strongly recommend.

Carol has looked after our son for many years (he is now 9). He loves her and her family, and treats her home like his own. Under Carol's expert and loving care he has always felt safe, loved, and been extremely well looked after. And had lots of fun!
Carol is very conscientious, super organised and extremely knowledgeable. She has a natural gift with children of all ages, which means they settle easily, find a good routine and are very happy under her care. I trust her completely with our beloved son and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
In my opinion, she is the best there is.
