About Me
Hello, my name is Inma, and I grew up in the beautiful city of Seville (Spain), from where my father is originally, but I was born in Equatorial Guinea (Africa) as my mother. I grew up with my father, but I always have been connected with my mother, brothers (I'm the oldest of three) and stepfather.
Coming from a multicultural background has made me value the similarities and differences between people, and I also enjoy being part of different communities.
After I finished my studies and started to work in different roles as a customer assistant, I came to London in 2014 with the motivation of becoming a live-in au pair for a lovely family for a year. In the coming years, I came back to work in customer services, which helped me to grow and open myself more, developing my social skills and feeling London as my second home.
All those years were very important for me and my growth, but after all, what I want is to focus on what has always made me feel joyful and passionate: to take care of people in general, but most importantly for me, children. I'm currently completing my studies of level 2 of Counselling Skills and Psychotherapy, with which I would like to work in the future to help children and young people's mental health and well-being.
I'm also planning to study a teacher assistant course for Forest Schools during the next year and, until then, develop the skills for my growth and for helping others.
My Experience
Throughout my life, I have been taking care of children on multiple occasions in a non-professional and professional way. By non-professional, I mean periods or occasions where I took care of my brothers, one of them with special needs, entertaining the children at weddings or family/ friends meetings by choice because I love to make them enjoy games in adult events and also helping friends with their babies if they needed extra support.
Professionally, I worked as a live-in au pair, taking care of two children, 4 and 7, for a year. My duties were from Monday to Friday, waking them up in the morning and getting them ready for school ( dressing, breakfast and go), taking them to school and picking them up, preparing food for them, helping with homework and being present with them until their parents came back home (6/7 pm). I also helped the family with some house duties such as basic cleaning, laundry, ironing school uniforms and taking them to their lessons or some free time in the park playing.
