My Summary
About Me
My name is Sas, I am 22 and I’m about to start studying for my Masters at the University of Leeds. I’ve worked as a nanny for over 9 years and I have experience looking after and tutoring children with complex needs and who are neurodiverse! I struggled with dyslexia myself so I understand the frustrations but also how to find different revision techniques that work. I am very warm and friendly as I've grown up in a busy household full of kids.
My Experience
I started babysitting at 13 looking after my younger siblings (my brother has severe ADHD which has helped develope my skills in childcare such as helping him build healther routines to focus his energy and attention) and family friends. From 14 to 18 I worked for SafeSitters (a Baby Sitting company in South London) where I looked after many children ranging from age 2 to 13 doing school drop off's and pick up's, finding interesting and fun activites to do during school holidays. During university I worked diffrent jobs outside of childcare but did a bit of tutoring for GCSE students in English, Philosophy, Religion, Ethics and History. I struggle with dylexia, which has taught me to approach tutoring in a diffrent style using a multisensory input and activities to help the children learn concepts and provide more than one way to make connections whilst studying. After completing university studies, resumed work in childcare, providing personalized care to a three-year-old with complex
needs, including post-tracheostomy care and PEG tube reliance. Through NHS training, acquired qualifications to deliver tailored
support, successfully transitioning the child into the nursery and aiding in their recovery journey.
