About Me
Registered Childminder. I have 20+ years of childcare experience and have references available on request. I'm a mum of 4 (all of whom are now at school during the day) and I miss the little ones! Based in the lovely Ryde area of Hatfield from a nice detached house with safe back garden. I have a very nurturing approach and will always work with families to ensure children feel safe and secure while transitioning into childcare. I have a playroom full of resources which will support your child's development and learning through fun and engaging activities. I will also visit plenty of playgroups, take outings and have a Willow's Farm membership which means we have the opportunity to visit the farm and enjoy meeting the animals, seeing the seasons change and using the facilities such as soft play when the weather is not fun outside.
My Experience
I have a BTEC in childhood studies, and multiple previous roles in childcare, including working in a special needs centre in Enfield, and respite homecare for special needs children, 3 years at Middlesex University nursery, and setting up the under 5's children's church in Vineyard (St Albans), which caters to 200+ children each week. I was also registered and worked previously a childminder with Ofsted when my eldest two children were little. On my first inspection I was graded 'Good' and have re-registered recently after a break to have my own children.

My Availability
I am available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, during school term time, as well as for occassional babysitting.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
I charge a supplimentary fee of £1.75 for lunches, and £1.75 for a morning and afternoon snack, or you are welcome to provide a healthy and balanced packed lunch and snacks for your child.

Clair has been so great looking after our little princess. Always plenty of activities and delicious food and snacks. Quick to respond and plenty of updates. Our daughter loves going there. Highly recommended.

Claire has been an absolute angel for our family and the best decision I’ve made. It was so important to me that my daughter be in a nurturing family environment where she felt safe and secure. Claire has offered this and so much more. She and her family are my daughter’s favourite people outside of us. She is roaring to go in the moment she sees Claire’s house and it’s so apparent from how happy she is at the end of the day how well she is being care for. She keeps her safe whilst also gently challenging her at her own pace. She keeps me updated on everything relating to my daughter throughout the day and end of shift. She makes fresh home made nutritious meals for the kids and is giving my little girl daily experiences which I would struggle with. I sometimes think she’s bored at home! Thank you Claire xxxx

work. My daughter is happy and starts bouncing when we’re in front of Claire’s house. We appreciate her reliability and dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment.

Claire was a nanny for our three children for about two years; they were 6 yrs, 4 yrs, and 6 months at the time she stopped caring for them as we moved away. We were distraught when we knew she would have to stop caring for them, as Claire is one of the most naturally gifted people we’ve ever met in terms of working with young children. They naturally just love her. She is fun, enthusiastic and energetic, yet at the same time can be firm when needed. She is unflappable and calm in emergency situations. She took my children to playgroups, on outings to the park and other fun places, prepared healthy meals, put them down for nap times, fed them when they were babies, helped to potty train them, and was very good at doing art and craft, cooking and creative activities at home with them, She is not the type of child care provider to put your child in front of a telly all day. Honestly, she is one of the best childcarers we have every encountered; I would have no problem entrusting my children to her, and you will be blessed if you’re able to have her care for your children!
(P.S. I have not rated the setting as my children were not cared for in her home, but I have no doubt her house will be set up appropriately for children).

Claire has been looking after my two girls on and off for some time now and they absolutely love their time with Claire, at her beautiful detached home on The Ryde (a really lovely area, on the Welwyn Garden City side of Hatfield). My girls also love playing in her nice safe back garden which has a trampoline, slide and swings. I would recommend her to anyone - she is very friendly and nurturing, professional and obviously an extremely experienced Childcare provider with lots of wisdom to offer. Claire has been able to support with some challenges and always seems to be able to settle the kids and get the best from them. Thank you so much.

Claire is a complete natural with small children and understands how they engage and play. Claire is kind, patient, and infinitely empathetic to how children are feeling. She helps them to understand and learn about the world and makes the process fun and an adventure. She is honest, trustworthy, caring, reliable and any child would be lucky to have her as their childminder. Claire has looked after all 3 of our children, they still see her regularly, and miss going to her house when they've not seen her in a while.
