About Me

My Name is Kelly Mills, and I live in Wintergreen with my Husband Callum and our son Harrison who is 3 years old. We have lived at Wintergreen for a few years but before this we lived round the corner at Saffron meadow for 3 years, so I know the area well. Both Callum and I are fully enhanced DBS checked. The nature of Callum’s job does mean he may work from home occasionally, but he has an office upstairs out of the way and is on the road or in his head office most of the time.
I offer a friendly, flexible, and affordable service for children up to the age of 8 in a safe environment where they can have fun, explore, learn and develop to their full potential.
I use the world around me as inspiration for learning opportunities. The changing sessions, different cultural celebrations and the natural environment all go into shaping our learning here at Wintergreen Childcare.
I have a ‘give it a go’ approach to teaching where I encourage all children to do as much as possible for themselves. This way they gain the much-needed independence, while at the same time exploring what their minds and their bodies are capable off. I will provide a balance between child-led and adult-led activities to keep your littles engaged and interested in learning throughout the day.
Each child is unique and special in their own way, we celebrate our differences by being inclusive to everyone. I accept and appreciate every child for who they are and will encourage them to become the best versions of themselves. Ultimately its all about having fun and exploring and learning through play.

My Experience

After having my son, I went back to being a designer full time and quickly realised this wasn’t for me anymore. My passions had developed and changed since then and although I still wanted to be creative, I knew I couldn’t continue being a designer anymore. Instead, I wanted to have a more rewarding career to fit around my new home life. I have been interested in child development since my son was born and found the stages of development fascinating so I decided that becoming a childminder where I could teach and nurture children to reach their full potential would be a great vocation for me.

My experience is being a mum. I know how hard it is to leave your child in the care of someone else. Which is why I am dedicated and passionate about delivering the best care I can to your most precious person on the planet.
