About Me
Hello! I’m currently studying at university in order to qualify as a teacher. I’m passionate about education and have lots of experience working with children in both educational and childcare environments. I’m a very friendly, creative and positive person, and I like to bring this to both my work a well. Outside of work and studies, I’m passionate about writing - currently working on a novel! I’m sporty and love spending time in the outdoors, just as much as I love staying in with a good book.
I’m a very organised and reliable person. Growing up with parents in the emergency services, I am familiar and confident in first aid and emergency responses, something I believe to be extremely important, especially working with children.
My Experience
I have lots of experience working with children. I have spent two years working as a Pupil Support Assistant, requiring me to work one-to-one with children (aged 2-11) with a variety of additional support needs, such as autism, cerebral palsy and more. In these roles I would provide physical and emotional care, as well as supporting their educational needs and most importantly, providing them with a caring, supportive and safe environment in which they could thrive and develop.
Training as a teacher I have also been responsible for classes of up to 30 pupils, where I have taught lessons, engaged with feedback and strived to create an environment that is stimulating, encouraging and positive for each and every child.
And, whilst not technical employment, I regularly babysit my young family members (aged 4 and under) and fill the time with creative tasks, outdoor play and more.
My Qualifications
I have a range of National 5’s, Highers and Advanced Highers awarded from the SQA. I am also currently a student at the University of Dundee, studying a bachelors with intention to continue to my Honours.
My Availability
I’m available flexibly - weekday evenings from 5, all day Thursday and the occasional weekend upon arrangement.
