About Me
I am a cheerful, creative individual. In my spare time, I pursue art as a hobby and like taking long strolls, as well as meeting up with close ones for coffee and cake. I obtained my degree in Fine Art and Art History at the University of Leeds and subsequently spent a year in France working at a textile factory, gaining experience in both business and textiles.
After my time in France, I returned to my hometown, Bristol, where I have dedicated over four years to working with children ranging from 0yrs to 11yrs, in settings such as nurseries, pre-schools, and primary schools. I've been providing babysitting services since the age of 16 and also engaged in some nanny work during the lockdown.
I then began work with children who have complex needs and have been running my own weekly art club for 10-20 children for over six months.
During the time I worked at the school, I studied for my Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification at Weston College over that past year.
In the new year, I made the decision to relocate to London for a change of scenery. Working with children brings me immense joy and satisfaction, as I love teaching them, infusing fun into their lives, and sharing my creative artistic capabilities. My Experience
I have been a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) in a Resource Base within a primary school located in South Bristol. Our resource base provision is best suited for children who can engage in some mainstream learning while receiving specialist teaching. The children from our specialist resource base are considered integral members of the school community, and their education is tailored to each child, considering their unique needs and interests. I thoroughly enjoyed my role, and there was never a dull moment.
During my time as a level 3 TA, my duties involved working with the reception class, focusing on our SEND children. I have received training in a variety of areas, including Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, ADHD Awareness, Team Teach, ACEs, Makaton, Good Autism Practice, Attention Autism, Fire Safety, and First Aid. I have accumulated two years of experience working with a child with Tourette's and another child with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
With my extensive experience working with SEND children, I remain open to all positions and opportunities.
I have recently moved to Bromley to start my teacher training in a local secondary school in Bickley after working in Crystal Palace for a family with a 1 year old and 5 year old. I have continued working with families around Crystal Palace with school pick up and babysitting.
