About Me
At Michelle’s Meadow I aim to make a lasting difference to each child I care for. I feel passionately about children being and learning outdoors through all seasons. I have over 20 years experience working in early years settings, which include nurseries, and as a primary school teacher. During this time I have found outdoors to be an area where children flourish.
Therefore, my setting will aim for children to be outdoors at least 80% of the time. The children will learn to become decision makers, explorers, climbers, risk takers, problem solvers and develop a love for the natural world. I want children to learn a mutual respect for each other, the environment and the world around us. I want children to take responsibility for their self care and actions. Children will be able to develop at their own pace with resources to challenge and support their development.
My Experience
I am a fully qualified teacher with over 20 years experience in early years. During this time I have been fortunate to work mostly with younger children where I have gained a good understanding of early child development. I am also a mum to three children, one who has flown the nest and two younger children.
My Qualifications
Degree - Bachelor of Science with Honours
Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Practice
NCFE Cache level 3 award in preparing to work in home based childcare
Safeguarding Children
Full paediatric first aid
Level 2 food safety and hygiene for early years settings
