About Me

Hello! I’m Amy, I’m 33 and I live in Fetcham with my husband, my two lovely children, our dog and tortoise.

I have worked with children for many years now. I started my career working in a SEN school, here I worked as a 1:1 and really got to understand how to engage and encourage children to play and learn and the importance of making things fun. It was here I went on to do my Level 3 supporting teaching and learning for primary schools ages 5-11. I progressed my career and became a higher-level teaching assistant where I worked in the nursery and reception class. Having the experience and knowledge of working with additional needs had really helped me understand how to develop children in a way that suits their individual needs. I then moved onto a mainstream pre-school where I have expanded my knowledge of the curriculum.

I have my Level 3 in early years making me qualified from birth to 11 years old. I am trained in Makaton which is a simplified version of BSL and used to support a child’s speech, communication and understanding. I am trained in SENCo, Autism, Seizures, Speech and language and I’m first aid trained.

I have experienced working with a range of different children with different needs, as well as ages. I also have experience looking after multiples.

I have a cabin in my garden for us to use as a playroom, this is safe for us to use all year round and it gives us a great free flow from inside and outside play allowing the children to get the most out of the setting and their days with me. My home from home setting is called ‘Little Butterflies’ because they have such a great representation, they are curious, fun, and joyful. They represent change, transformation, creativity and to experience the wonder of life. A lot of these are what we see in our children, and I want them to be able to explore and experience all these traits when in my setting. I can’t wait to encourage your child to be curious, to have lots of fun, and to push their creativity and learning.
