About Me
I work a flexible but demanding part-time role in portfolio management within a government agency. I mostly work at home.
My Requirements
Our current after-school nanny leaves us soon to start teacher training and so I am looking for a new nanny to start around mid-September.
We are looking for an after-school nanny for our seven year old daughter, Lucy, in our home for 2.5 hours (3pm - 5:30pm) for 2 days per week (Tues / Weds / Thurs). We can be flexible on the days and hours for the right person.
The roles includes collecting Lucy on foot from school (5 mins walk from our home) at 3pm and caring for her at our home until 5:30pm. During this 2.5 hours you would help Lucy with her homework or learning activities then lead her in some playtime, crafts or fun activities before making and serving her tea.
We are offering £15ph but may be able to offer more for a very experienced candidate and/or for candidates who can be paid using childcare vouchers.
This role is until Christmas school holidays, at least. If things are working well it is likely to continue beyond that, possibly for the full school year.
Lucy is a bright, sweet-natured and creative child who loves to learn about the world around her. Lucy loves games, role-playing, animals, nature, construction, exploring and arts & crafts. She is very well-behaved and good natured but she suffers with anxiety and this, combined with her suspected ADHD, busy mind and sensory issues, can be challenging for her and those caring for her.
Lucy loves to learn but she is struggling with her reading and writing so we would like to find someone who can do some homework with her.
But mostly we want someone who is caring, fun and will be sensitive to her needs: working out when she needs restorative down time and when she needs to be an outlet for her energy and enthusiasm.
I, Lucy's Mum, Kate, work from home. I will rely on our selected nanny to care for and entertain Lucy independently, allowing me to focus on work.
We have very busy lives but we also have a lot of flexibility to work around our preferred nanny's availability. But we need someone who can be well organised to coordinate with us and someone who is reliable so that we have confidence in arrangements.
There are likely to be also be some additional, occasional and entirely optional babysitting hours offered alongside the regular weekly hours of this role.
Having a recent DBS check is an advantage but we will arrange for one to be carried out, if necessary, for the successful candidate.
