My Experience

Behaviour Technician, True Changes, Brooklyn, NY. Oct 2022-Jul 2023 Completed a 40-hour Registered Behaviour Technician Training created by the Autism Partnership Foundation. Provided one on one ABA sessions with two clients weekly. One client was a 17-year-old girl and the other was a 6-year-old girl. Implemented behaviour intervention plans created by the BCBA. Worked with one child on developing new skills, like, communication, social interaction, and daily living tasks. With another child, we worked on visual, auditory and concept skills.

Art Teacher Assistant, Manhattan, NY. Sep 2022-Dec 2022 Engaged students in the creative process and fostered their talents while deepening their knowledge and understanding of art, design, and art history. Taught age-appropriate art concepts (the 7 Elements of Art: Line, Shape, Color Value, Texture, Form, Space.) Taught through mediums Paint, Clay, Collage, Wood, Mixed Mediums, and more. Managed student behaviour and classroom schedule to create a positive and productive learning environment. Communicated with parents to coordinate class schedules, museum tours, and birthday party events. Assisted with 1.5-hour long museum tours, camps, classes, and birthday parties with children aged between 3.5 and 15.

Arts & Crafts Instructor, Clay Word Art Studio, New York, NY. Feb 2022- June 2022 Teach after-school workshops in clay modelling, to children between the ages of 4 to 13. Develop and improve children’s fine motor skills, artistic skills and creative expressiveness through exploring the art of clay modelling. Plan and prep model characters and aluminium foil skeletal structures for each child.

NANNY, BROOKLYN SUMMER 2019 Provide care to three children; 6, 8, 11. I commuted from my home to Brooklyn. I took them around New York City to do different activities. Including pools, museums, libraries. I prepared breakfast and lunch.

CURIOUS JANE CAMP BROOKLYN, NY 11215 SUMMER 2017 As a counsellor of this project-based all-girls camp I worked with a co-counsellor supervising 20 children in a Manhattan facility. My duties included teaching science and math-themed activities as well as creative projects to groups of girls ages 5-11. I supervised walking excursions to parks, pool and various outdoor activities. I was required to meet and greet each child and caregiver each morning and evening and maintain open and positive communication with my supervisor, co-counsellor and parents.


FAIRVIEW LAKE YMCA CAMPS, NEWTON NEW JERSEY - 6/2016 TO 8/2016 As a counsellor caring for children age 8-14 at this sleep-away camp, I along with an experienced senior counsellor managed 10 to 15 children. Activities I was in charge of included overnight hikes on the Appalachian Trail and Delaware River lasting 3-5 days. My duties included packing each camper with supplies and food, supervising activities such as fishing, canoeing, pitching tents, cooking open fire, swimming and a variety of sports. I was required to maintain a positive and encouraging environment for my campers in challenging situations.

My Qualifications

Extensive childcare experience. I worked in one in one-on-one behaviour therapy with autistic children. I've assisted and have taught art classes. I've worked as a day camp counsellor and a sleep-away camp counsellor.
