My Summary
Early Birds Tiney Home Nursery
About Me
Early Birds Tiney Home Nursery is a new childminding setting situated in Enfield Lock - known for its tranquil surroundings, with beautiful waterways, green spaces and many nearby parks.
At Early Birds Tiney Home Nursery, our priority is to provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing home from home environment - where little ones can thrive. We aim to cultivate each child's natural desire to learn through a child-centred, play-based learning approach and encourage children to follow their own interests and inclinations. Our curriculum is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and inspired by different educational theories like Montessori and Reggio Emilia. Whilst learning is child-led, our planning comes from observations of each child's emerging interests to ensure we are creating a stimulating and irresistible in-door and out-door learning environment for each child.
We are two sisters who run Early Birds, Beri & Zeb. We are qualified childminders with a wealth of experience and a shared passion for early years education and child development. We have trained and registered with an Ofsted-certified agency to ensure our premises are presented at an exceptionally high standard. As care givers, we understand how fundamental a building a nurturing relationship is for children to thrive - which is at the heart of everything we do. With low ratios, we are able to personalise every child's development plan and support their personal needs.
Key information:
- We use an app for parents as the main communication channel and invoices/payments. This app is where we hold every child's profile and personal information. We will upload daily observations, updates and key highlights for parents to view throughout the day
- We will hold a formal parents meeting every 6 months, however, termly progress checks and observations will be ongoing
- We provide healthy, home cooked meals and snacks with consideration to all dietary requirements or allergies. A weekly menu will be sent out to prospective parents
- We will hold extra-curricular activities every week IE baby yoga, child friendly workouts, cooking classes and local library/park visits
- We will hold end of term trips (this will need to be paid if entry is not free)
- Two year development reviews will be completed for 2y/o's in our setting
- We have undergone comprehensive early years foundation stage training, we are early years experienced, DBS checked and hold an up to date full paediatric first aid
- We have a loading bay across our house for convenient drop off's and pick up's

I can only say how happy I am that Azariah is cared for by Zeb and Beri. From the first day, they put me at ease by their professionalism and kindness. Azariah absolutely love it and is always so eager to go. I have so much peace about the way he is looked after that I don’t even look at my app anymore while at work.
Zeb and Beri always communicate efficiently and clearly about his day, his mood and performance. It was the best decision that I took.

I’m beyond grateful to have found Zeb and Beri! As a first-time mom to a shy, clingy boy, who wasn’t yet confident in his speech or interactions with others, I was filled with anxiety about who and where to leave him. The uncertainty led me to search for a childminder who could offer half-day placements until I felt he was ready for a full day, which was surprisingly hard to find.
I was looking for someone who could provide a safe, nurturing environment that encouraged learning through play, following the EYFS framework. Above all, I wanted my son to be in a place where he felt truly at ease—safe, heard, and seen. A space where his curiosity could bloom, where he could explore freely, and where he could come out of his shell, building his social confidence and boosting his verbal skills as he interacts and learn alongside his peers.
From the moment we visited Early Birds Tiney Home Nursery, we instantly knew it was the perfect environment for our son to grow, learn, and thrive. It's like stepping into a nursery, but with the heartwarming comfort of a home. The space is spotless and well-organized, clearly designed with care and thoughtfulness. There's a beautiful garden full of exciting play equipment, including a football goal net that I knew my son would love. The warm, dedicated cabin area packed with fun, educational toys—everything my son needs to stay engaged and stimulated.
Zeb and Beri were amazing during the settling-in period. Zeb's radiant, friendly smile instantly put us at ease and made us feel so welcomed. Her incredible patience and calm understanding made all the difference, as she always took the time to listen and respond with such care. Beri's firm yet warm presence made us feel safe and supported, creating an environment of trust and comfort. Together, they used my son's interests to make him feel at home while gently encouraging him to explore new toys, building trust every step of the way. Their care and attention have made him feel safe and secure. I was amazed at how quickly he adapted, after the settling period. It was clear to my son that Mommy was leaving him in the best hands possible. Even when sometimes he’s a little sad during drop-off, he still blows me kisses, waves goodbye, and closes the door himself (with a little help, of course) - this reassures me 100% that I have nothing to worry about.
Every day, I receive updates through the app showing what my son has been up to—what he's eaten, what he’s learned, and exciting outings like trips to the library and park. It's a wonderful way to stay connected and see his growing confidence socially and emotionally through pictures and videos. What really stands out to me, though, is how Zeb and Beri always take the time to provide thoughtful feedback when I pick him up, offering encouragement and insights into his development. They go above and beyond, highlighting areas for growth and showing just how much they care about his progress and his time with them.
I love that they send the weekly menu in advance! It helps me prep my fussy eater by knowing what healthy meals and snacks are coming up, so I can encourage him to try them before he eats them.
Thanks to their incredible care, I’m not surprised by how well my son interacts and engages with both Zeb and Beri, as well as the other children. The children there are lovely, and it’s clear that Zeb and Beri focus not only on play but on teaching kindness and manners, which I really appreciate. It’s been four months now that my son has been under their care, and I couldn’t be happier. I pray that God continues to strengthen and equip them with the tools, ideas, and creativity they need to support each child in their unique development.

Response by Early Birds on 11/12/2024:
We’ve already let you know what this feedback means to us in private but wanted to say it here too - it’s an absolute pleasure and privilege to work and do what we do with such wonderful children like N. We are grateful to also have such lovely parents like you Marie! Thank you! We are incredibly happy to be a part of little N’s learning journey and seeing him become the confident little boy he is. Thank you again and again!
We had the privilege of getting to know Beri whilst our daughter was in nursery at a previous setting. She made those first few anxious months after you enter your child into an external setting so wonderfully smooth. My daughter absolutely loved Beri and the care provided by Beri was second to none. Kind and endlessly patient, yet firm and capable of digesting and executing the stringent British EYFS standards. When Beri is caring for your child, you honestly feel like you are leaving them with family. We were absolutely heartbroken when she was asked to move to a different location. The people absolutely make the nursery and this couldn’t be more true of Beri. I highly recommend her as a childcare provider.

Beri was a nursery teacher and a babysitter afterwards for our son for a few years. She started looking after Gregory when he turned 1 year old. She was very dependable, nurturing and tender but also firm when needed. We never worried about our son's safety when he was with her. It was pleasure to have her at our home as she was very neat and organised. It has been 4 year since she last babysit Gregory but he still remembers her with lots of fondness. Our family is very happy that she has set up her own nursery!

My little one is loving his placement so far, and has already improved both his communication and speaking skills (which we were struggling with prior to him starting at EarlyBirds). Thank you EarlyBirds team for taking such good care of him!
