About Me
My name is Caroline Whelan, I am a registered childminder, registered with the care inspectorate, SCMA, (Scottish Childminding Association), Childcare.co.uk and ICO for data protection. My kitchen is registered with the local council to provide safe food for the children. I live in Coatbridge with my husband Peter. We live in a semi-detached house in a quiet estate in Coatbridge which has an enclosed back garden. I am also close to Drumpellier, Dunbeth and West End parks and local bus and train routes. I have decided to leave nursery and have chosen to provide a safe and caring environment in my home to nurture children to help them reach their full potential in both health and wellbeing and education.
My Experience
I have been employed with North Lanarkshire Council for 27 years and I have been a Lead Early Level Practitioner for the last 15 years. My work experience is working with children from 2 to 5 years old and my personal experience is caring for children from birth onwards.
My Qualifications
I hold a HNC in Childcare and Education, PDA in Childcare and Education and a BA in Childhood Practices and have completed many courses, some are Paediatric First Aid Training, Food and Hygiene, Do be Mindful, Emotion Works, Solihull, Autism, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). I participate in training that is relevant to Early Learning and Childcare and update my current certificates when necessary.
