About Me
*Forest School Childminders*
Hello! We are Chloe and Jessica, sister childminders in the Marley Fields area of Leighton Buzzard. We are the proud owners of The Discovery Daycare, a new Forest School Early Years home setting.
We are huge advocates of the outdoors and the holistic benefits that nature can bring for all children. The outdoor environment within our setting is accessible for children throughout the whole day, in all safe weathers. Waterproofs and wellies are a must in our setting as we encourage our children to explore nature, create recipes in our Nature Kitchen, jump in muddy puddles and to develop a love and respect of their outdoor environment.
Our indoor area is a spacious and welcoming environment, that encourages free exploration and play, whilst promoting all areas of learning and development within the Early Years. Our setting is rich with interesting, real-life and natural objects that spark curiosity and wonder and help to inspire children's imagination and vocabulary.
Whilst children within our setting will have continuous access to our outdoor environment, they will also partake in weekly Forest School sessions. These take place within some of the beautiful natural woodlands, parks and nature reserves that surround Leighton Buzzard. These sessions are a specialised approach to outdoor learning which aim to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning in woodland environments.
My Experience
Chloe - I'm a qualified primary school teacher with over 9 years experience working within the Early Years and within a school for children with additional needs and disabilities. I am a Level 3 Forest School Lead Practitioner. I am a mum to a wonderful 19 month old son who will also be joining in with the fun at The Discovery Daycare.
Jessica - I have a career background within the mental health sector and 5 years of childcare experience working as a respite Foster Carer. I have additional Early Years experience and am also a mum to my lovely children, a 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter.

My Availability
The Discovery Daycare is available Monday-Wednesday from 7.30am - 5.30pm.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.75 per hour
Our hourly rate is £6.75 an hour. This rate includes a morning snack, a healthy cooked lunch, a filling afternoon snack and fruit, water and milk. This also includes all Forest School sessions and any trips/excursions to local groups.
