About Me
My aim is to create a homely, warm and welcoming atmosphere for all children in my care to relax, play & have fun together in a safe environment. I work in a non-smoking home based in Duddingston / Portobello with fantastic local amenities including toddler groups, libraries and Figgate park, plus the beach.
My Experience
I have been a childminder since 2023 - Prior to that I was a qualified Early Years Practitioner and worked for the City of Edinburgh council in various school nurseries for many years. During this time, I worked with children between the ages of 2-5 years. I had the opportunity to work with a number of children with significant additional support needs.
Working as an Early Years Practitioner in multiple different settings gave me a fantastic insight into different ways of approaching the childcare and educational needs of children – I hope to bring these varied experiences into my role as a childminder.
I am also a mother to 2 teenage children.
My Qualifications
SVQ Level 3 - Children's Care, Learning & Development, Food Hygiene, First Aid and Child Protection.
