My Summary
About Me
My name is Ayaka and I'm 26 years old.
I’m from Japan and am currently working as an au pair in Bedfordshire, UK. I am currently looking for babysitting and also part time roles. I have a Youth Mobility Visa, and can stay in the UK until February 2026.
??The family's current children are two sweet girls, aged 7 and 5.At home with the children, I draw pictures, play ball games such as piggy&middle, play with dolls, dance and sing songs together. We go to the park together to play hide-and-seek, play shop-and-seek and play on the playground equipment together. I also teach Japanese to children and they can count in Japanese! The children also love Japanese rice, especially onigiri (rice balls), furikake rice and omelettes, and I often cook Japanese food for them. When dining together, our family expresses gratitude to the cooks with phrases like "itadakimasu."
?? I have an automatic transmission driver’s license.
I obtained a license as a kindergarten, elementary and nursery teacher in Japan. I spent a lot of time with children, two weeks in kindergarten and one month in elementary school and one year in nursery school. During the practical training and nursery School, I spent my time watching over the children and valuing their independence.
I can cook Japanese home cooking.

I think that I can enjoy life with children due to my practical experience.
I would like to build a relationship with the children where I can be happy, growing and making discoveries with children by watching the world from their perspective.

?Japanese is a language with many phonetic features that differ from English. Even without actively learning Japanese, exposure to its phonetics can yield several benefits:
1. Exposure to Japanese phonetics, even for English speakers, may facilitate understanding of phonetics in other languages. Japanese, with its prevalence of open syllables, contrasts with the closed syllables common in English. Thus, exposure to Japanese phonetics during childhood for English speakers can aid in learning phonetic features unique to languages other than English.
2. Switching between languages and cognitive control are enhanced, leading to improved focus and memory.
3. Learning phonetics of a language different from one’s mother tongue from an early age enables individuals to grasp a higher level of language proficiency without missing the critical period for language acquisition.
?I have an automatic transmission driver’s license.
?If you have a tea ceremony set at home, I can make matcha or teach tea ceremony.
?If you have a kimono set at home, I can help you put on the kimono.
