My Experience

Youth Volunteer - Knightsridge Community Project Aug 2021 - Jan 2022

When I was volunteering at the Vennie, my key roles were; maintaining a registrational process, giving first aid to children and other volunteers, keeping the kitchen sterile and organised whilst preparing and serving food for up to 120 kids. Helping with day-trips, events and activities and communicating and bonding with kids, parents, carers and other volunteers and staff.

Key achievements in this role include:
- Effectively establishing Relationships with children, becoming a role model and someone of confidentiality and trust.
- Helping with many major collaborations such as Christmas and Halloween events whilst maintaining covid regulations and guidelines.
- Being promoted to a member of staff in January 2022


Youth Worker - Knightsridge Community Project Jan 2022 - June 2022

After being promoted to staff in early 2022, my roles and responsibilities adapted and took on more tasks whilst gaining authority and teamwork experience. I helped plan, schedule and organise the activities and trips that the kids participated in, I was an essential part in running multiple clubs. Writing end of day reports/summaries that entails information such as any issues that occur, key themes/language discussed with the children and young people and what occurred in each session.

Key achievements in this role include:
- Being put forward to become a Knightsridge Community Councillor by the Vennie manager, where I would attend meetings and discuss important topics
- Having the opportunities given to me by my manager to talk/advise parents on their kids about their education/university plans - especially in accordance to STEM careers.


Starbuck Barista - The Cube Edinbrugh May 2022 - Present

After being accepted to further study at University, I took on a part time role at a coffee shop in Edinbrugh City centre, to finacially support myself fully through my degree and to gain experience in the workforce. My role consists of connecting with customers, families and children, carefully crafting perfect beverages every time in a timely manner and taking on cleaning tasks and organisational jobs throughout the day. This role has taught me to multitask efficiently and effectively and to be a hard worker whilst under pressure.

As I continue to work part-time during the summer, my availabilty resides between monday-thursday (from morning to evening each day bar monday).
