EVENING BABYSITTING AVAILABLE AT PRESENT. I AM ALSO AN OFSTED REGISTERED NANNY.
My name is Mel and I have been childminding for 20 years. I have 3 grown children one is also a Childminder, one a Primary School Teacher and my youngest now works at the university he graduated from . I have 2 granddaughters aged 12 and 7 and a grandson born april24. I am Ofsted Registered and live in Great Sutton, I offer a relaxed homely environment where the children are well cared for stimulated and encouraged in all they do. Their learning is through play opportunities and experiences and I offer and support these daily. We spend a lot of time outside and we venture out most mornings to explore the local parks farms, zoo , blue planet , toddler sessions, woods play centres etc as social interaction outside their environment is really important and as a childminder I can offer this unlike a nursery setting. I am extremely flexible to support parents whatever their hours may be. I work closely with parents to encourage the best from their child, ensuring continuity of home routines where possible. I will keep you closely informed about progress and milestones with daily photos via WhatsApp and also welcome parents feedback and suggestions as this partnership is a very important part of successful childcare. I have lots of excellent parent references to show how settled and well cared for their children are and how pleased they are with the service and flexibility I provide.

I am fortunate to have 2 Emergency Childminder's available if I am ever ill or have appointments etc, (as long as they have space on the day)both would know the children as we go out together during the day to increase our safeguarding with 3 sets of eyes on the children allowing extra flexibility for toileting and individual interests. One is my daughter and the other an Ofsted Registered Childminder. My holidays are given out in November for the next year allowing parents plenty of time to make alternative arrangements.
I am a member of Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (Pacey).
I am registered for Childcare Vouchers with several companies including care4, fidelty, computershare and sodexo and also the student childcare grant service. I could register with others if need be.
My Experience
Mum for 35 years and I have 2 granddaughters aged 12 and 7 and a grandson born April 24. A childminder for 20 years and I have looked after children mostly for long periods of time only leaving when going to High school , moving home or grand parents retiring and taking over childcare. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge and support parents with their child’s learning journey. Never had a child that hasn't settled well and been happy as part of my extended family. I keep upto date with all relevant training, and courses that I think will support any child with their learning journey and also all mandatory training. I am extremely flexible working late nights and early mornings to allow parents to work their shifts without worrying about childcare.
My Qualifications
NVQ3 Early Years and Education, Paediatric 1st aid and ST Johns Baby first aid certificate Food Hygiene ,Active Play, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Eyfs training speech and language development behaviour management plus numerous other childcare development courses.
My Availability
I can offer early starts and late finishes for shift workers spaces permitting. I also offer evening babysitting when time permits. Please contact me for my current availability and to discuss your individual requirements.

Mel is so amazing with my little boy and he’s gained so much confidence since starting with her. She takes him on days out to the zoo and the aquarium and his walking and talking has come on so much since being looked after by her. She’s a really caring and thoughtful childminder ☺️.

Mel babysits our kids a more or less regular basis. She is great, absolutely lovely with them, but more importantly, she is a proper professional. Especially as our youngest is struggling with the language (coming from abroad), she always has valueable tips for us on how to support him. She is very flexible and open regarding their immediate needs.

I have had Mel baby sit two times now, she is always on time friendly reliable and brilliant. I was really nervous to leave my young children but Mel put me at ease to leave them. Will only use Mel now xxx

I was very pleasantly surprised by Mel, who was prompt, pleasant and caring. My daughter is very shy and everyone comments on how she doesn't talk but there was no hesitation with Mel, who seemed to put her right at ease. I will definitely be hiring her again. Goes above and beyond. An expert at connecting with kids!

I’ve used Mel for a few years now absolutely fantastic! Teddy loves going to Mel’s she caters for all his needs. Made us comfortable from the start and great communication with regular updates on how he’s getting on throughout the day. Mel does so much with the children was amazing to see my son thrive and come on so much. Couldn’t recommend enough she’s one of the best. Thank you.
