About Me
My name is Carrin, I am 38yo and I’m a mum of 2; my eldest is 16 and my youngest is 8. Our home is located in the area of Moor Nook, Ribbleton, right on the edge of the beautiful Brockholes Nature Reserve - a place we often go exploring in.
I am lucky enough to be able to offer the whole ground floor of our home to the children in my care as well as a very spacious garden.
My experience (as seen below) brought me to a point where I wanted to offer children more than I could in a nursery environment - more personalised care, more experiences, more opportunities and more learning. This is why I chose to open Carrin’s Just Like Home Childminding Service - I offer learning and care based on the EYFS the same as any other child care service but I do it with the comfort of a home, the same smiling face every day and the widest variety of activities and opportunities you could ever imagine.
I also offer a home from home routine for children under the age of 1, this means that their sleep and bottle routine won’t be disrupted between your home and mine and that I will follow your lead on how you would like to wean onto solid foods (I am able to offer baby-led weaning).
I do drive and I have a car but due to space and personal preferences I will not be using this for business use - instead we will explore outdoors by foot (or in a buggy).
I absolutely love messy play, crafts, baking and reading… I get very excited about setting up areas for little ones to explore and as children learn through play, there isn’t a day goes by where progress isn’t made in their development - no matter how big or small that step may be!
My Experience
I started working with children 10 years ago in a volunteer position through an organisation my son attended, I absolutely loved seeing the difference this made to their lives and how the power of one person’s passion for delivering care and support can positively impact a child’s life. I then went on to working in a nursery 5 years ago and completed training as an Early Years Educator. I have experience working with children of all ages on both a personal level (as a mum) and a professional level (from working in a nursery).
I have an extensive continuous professional development log as I find it paramount for my role to stay up-to-date and knowledgeable in all matters regarding childcare, this is something that will continue throughout my years as a childcare provider and certificates will always be available upon request.

My Availability
Unfortunately I only have availability for before and after school club at the minute.
I open 7.30am until 6.00pm (with the exception of a 4.45pm close on a Thursday due to other commitments).
I only offer full day spaces at present.
I offer breakfast and after-school spaces.
I am unable to offer a half day (i.e a morning or an afternoon) as this would impact our trips out in the local area and routines such as meals and naps.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
Although my fees equate to £5 per hour, I charge a set fee for the day of £52.50
A deposit is required to secure a place which is discussed during a show around.
I provide a personalised drinks bottle and a personalised messy play top for the children to use at my setting. I provide all meals, snacks, sensitive wipes and suncream which is included in the price paid.
Parents are to provide nappies and nappy rash cream if required - this is due to each child using a different brand and size.
I have no other hidden fees.

Leaving our daughter each day was a challenge until we found Carrin. Trustworthy beyond belief, Carrin came highly recommended with excellent references from four different people. She cares for our daughter in a way that mirrors our parenting style at home, making the transition seamless.
Carrin is exceptionally intelligent in engaging with the children through activities that cater to their interests. She's always keen to explore the local area, offering the kids a chance to experience the world around them. Simply put, she's amazing.
Our daughter, who struggled to settle at nursery for six weeks, settled with Carrin in just a few days. She even smiles at the door when we arrive and never wants to leave Carrin's house, a clear indication of the fantastic time she has. The numerous pictures we receive show just how much fun she's having.
Carrin's thoroughness and dedication to her job are unmatched, and no request is ever too much trouble for her (including every dietary restriction/preference). If you're looking for someone to care for your child, I cannot recommend Carrin enough. If you're hesitant, just go for it—you won't regret it.
